A Cambium/pulley saver can preserve the condition of your rope considerably.

Hit the nail on the head...I was actually thinking of the very same scenario...small/medium re-pollards are a nightmare with a long rope dangling over the chipper,buses etc.. Lethal. But a joy with a suitably shorter rope.
