  1. I've been without a phone as I sold my old one...finally got a case for it.missed out on some great photo opportunities at work on Friday. Great watching the mog putting the stump grinder into all the separate gardens after we removed the hybrid Poplars....twas a beautiful sunny day.Now I have my new phone up and running.First picture out of my winow at 6 a.m
  2. good Morning Mr Orchard...yeah,first month done..i,m on such familiar territory these days that it is like falling of a log. no updates today...I need to hunt out a case over the weekend before I bring my Note 4 to work...the Camera on it is astonishing! and the Video is Crystal. But even though it,s insured I don,t want to go through three like I did with my old one...Tree Surgery is a harsh environment.....so have a great day y,all..on a final point the FORST was tested to the limit the last two days and performed Superbly...Great,great machine.
  3. you do a great service Ranger Matt:thumbup1:
  4. pie eater Pete,s do in May
  5. you can do it with one sling...easier if you are ancnchored in and have a lanyard. obviously spikes are more stable but if the tree is being retained and it is a clear stem then a foot strop is a good option.
  6. What a great day...Mew came in for two of the trees whilst we continued down the road...finished way ahead of schedule with one tree left for tomorrow with the main telegraph pole next to it...sold my old phone in the morning so had a day without any mobile device...quite a tough day for me then as I was unable to record any events or browse Arbtalk at dinnertime!
  7. Zigzag wins hands down
  8. Choked on a stem like you are...but I prefer a wide sling and with Chainsaw boots on it feels perfectly comfortable...
  9. I love the 150...light as a feather and a beautifully precise cut...you certainly have got the GoPro Sussed Adam. Bit early in the morning for crotch cam though! The do look like a smooth ascender. I,m sure Dale will be chuffed to see his product filmed like that. He,s a top Kiwi and a nice bloke.
  10. No Adam, these are the last of my pictures taken on my Note 2 (I,m selling it today) but I won,t bring my Note 4 to work until I get a life proof case for it. It,s too precious!
  11. 362.....461....661
  12. The sectioning climber does sometimes go up on the chains....what do you think of his toys Jon?
  13. Dan,i just take the crowns out then the Mog team clean up the sticks so i throwline spike and ZigZag which makes life very easy....
  14. For the first time i work with domeone who is as keen on photography as i am...i have taken huge ammounts of puctures of tree work over the years and now for the first time i have someone taking pictures of me...thanks Monkeyallan i appreciate it.
  15. No idea Eggs..Monkeyallan may be along to answer that....
  16. Steve (Boss) also got involved
  17. I've been involved in hundereds of re-pollards but the way we tackled todays trees was the most productive and these are all down for dismantles...
  18. True Mr Flatters.
  19. Efficiency is EVERYTHING TF;)
  20. Mr Tree Fancier to answer yoyr question,We are only a small team in terms of staff but we are a Big hitter when it comes to Jobs....we have a chipper for each day of the week if we chose to......Forst..Schleising,GM safetrack Jensen 540 all tracked PTO or towable. Everything is chipped or picked up by the Jonsered on the Mog....ringing up is a rareity here.Chip is taken by Mr Stobart. Never really drag or lift anything...just Climb,Cut or Chip. It is a very functional and productive work ethic....there are two young climber/groundies and the rest of us are a little more seasoned.....there is no shouting (which never achieves anything in my experience);everyone falls into a role on site and together we are a highly capable crew able to tackle any Treework. Tree Surgery is not rocket science.... Good moral is a vital ingredient and is fundamental in a top class outfit. Haven't seen a Conifer in a while now but i imagine if we were to take on a large area removal we would hit it very hard and very quickly.
  21. We work during our break
  22. Great Question TF! Will get back to on my break
  23. "The Pencil Sharpener"...Brilliant:)
