  7. Hi I am looking for a truckman top for land rover 130.
  8. Hi Jon, all i can say about the 660 against my saw, a mate of mine who comes contracting with me has one, and my saw seems to smoke it! My 576 normally runs with a 24" bar on a day to day basis. On the same size bar, it just seems to cut quicker. Dont get me wrong, the stihl 660 is also a good saw, i just find them a little bulky, but thats my personal preference. Its entirely up to you what you go for. My only advice would be to go to your local dealer, and get a couple of different modles in your hands, in the cc your after and see what works for you. Cheers, Pete.
  9. Hi Jon, Yeah ive had a couple of 372 xps which we're either friday night or monday morning saws. They didn't quite have the full beans in them no matter what i did to them, and then ive had some brillient ones. My saw is fully ported, exhaust mod, carb tweek and the pots been polished, and the anti vibe on this saw is brillient.
  10. Hi all, 576xp is a brlliant saw!!!!! You can run between 15" and a 42" bar! Now admitantly it helps if you skip the chain on the bigger bars. I run mine with an 8 tooth sprocket no matter what size bar i chuck on it. I only ever run it with Husky xp oil in it and i've hammered the living daylights out of it for just under a year. All i can say its the new 372xp. Heres a couple of saw porn pics
  11. 346xp all the way!!!!!!!
  12. Hi Samuel have you ran your saw up ?

  13. Hi dont strip the bark as it cuts faster when wet..

  15. hi sell some of your GUCCI KIT and get your self a 346xp.
  16. Hi all Whats the going rate per meter for felling roadside trees? There on a 60mph trunk road, all got bad decay and some are leaners. Just looking for a ball part figure. Many thanks Pete
  17. Hi all, Thanks to everyone who has pm'd me with all their details for 2 experienced climbers. Its been very much appreciated. I'm just finalising the last few details of the job and then i will be in touch with you all. Many thanks Pete
  18. Hi all, I know this isn't normally my thing, but I've been asked to do 21 trees for the local trunk road authority. So what I'm after is 2 experienced climbers with own kit, fit and fast paced as I'm receiving pressure from landowners and governing bodies to get the job done! The work intended is the usual stuff, i.e. branches over carriage way removed, crown reduction by 4-5 meters, deadwood removal and a couple of fells if that's what your into. I'm estimating 5 - 7 days worth of work all in. All timber is to be deposited onto the landowners land. No chipping or any of the other messing around. Just cut and move. The work is between Corwen and Dolgellau in North Wales. I have a large garden if you want to camp Please pm me with all qualifications and contact details. One thing i can guarantee is that there will be a huge cooked meal at the end of the day, the wife loves cooking!!!! Many thanks Pete
  19. Hi you certainly may work on a mill. I would use a skip chain, it will cut a lot faster. Also a good modding will see you right. Chainsaw milling is all about chain speed.
  20. Nice line up of landy's you have there arborum
  21. Hi all, The tyres i run are Mickey Thompsons 35.12.50.15's. I think there MTZ's. I've had these on a 110 highcap and on the 130, which took me 2 months to build. They've done 30,000 miles, brilliant on the road and better than a BF MT off the road. Unbelievably these tyres just don't seem to wear out! They've lost 2ml from brand new!!! But i only run them at 25psi no matter what I'm up to. Yeah the 130 is getting there. I've put a new engine and gearbox in it. A Gwyn Lewis full extreme suspension kit, I've gone with Terrafirma nitrous shocks plus 2" bearmach heavy duty springs all round. This was to get the 35's underneath it. I fitted a brand new H14 PTO winch, a brand new rear cross member. I'm putting it in my workshop next week for poly bushing, and I'm thinking about putting a tipper on it at the same time??? But remaining with the original body as i like the factory look. And its going the new land rover silver. Its a good workhorse and puts most 90's to shame off road
  22. hi all here are a couple of landys that i have owned, sold, built and competed in. Hope you like them...
  23. It has to be orange as far as i'm concerned! We are foresters and arb people, not council workers or recovery people. More to the point every time i see a tranny and a yellow high vis vest jumps out of it by the side of the road, i always think 'p*key'. That seems to be the case down this end.
