I have haix trekker mountains at the moment but to be honest, boots are sooo personal choice its hard to offer much advice. just dont buy red ones.

I love the way in picture 3, you are walking out on a limb completely pointlessly. You could have roped it and cut it with a pole saw, pulling it with a skid steer. Just watch the Cherry limb swing video for more tips. haha Could save you about 14 hours.

I don't think you really want to become a tree surgeon. I think youwould be better at learning forestry based stuff. If you are looking at extracting the timber and then processing it yourself then you really want to be buying standing timber, not getting tree surgery waste.
