  1. I very rarely climb with a second climber at the moment. I am however in the process of getting one of my groundies to do an areal rescue ticket. Other than that, always keeping ropes clear etc is the only way. It makes you think a bit more!
  2. Ideal for climbing in though... I`ll take three!
  3. I use NFU. If your truck is insured with them then the chipper insurance for me is £50 a year. Paying under 200 for £4000 tool value. I couldn`t get the chipper insured seperate but different offices say different things.
  4. Wow, i didn`t know you could do that! Nice pics mate, theres a birch near me with a burr like that.
  5. Presumably thats due to less air condtioning being used.
  6. No it was on a private driveway, weed killer is possible but unlikley. Cheers.
  7. Just one of those things then! Ineresting.
  8. I worked on an old Acer Negunda (Box Elder) today. No pics but could get some if useful. There is a certain amount of compaction around the roots and a far bit of basal epicormic. The odd thing is that alot of the new epicormic growth is pure white! Anyone known why that might happen?
  9. I have a cannon MP620, scan, photocopy, photo. Inkjet. Pretty good.
  10. Normally April until end of june is when the majority of nesting is. I`m booking that sort of stuff for end of July onwards. However, pigeons are there till way later. Not much you can do there imo, just have a good look before starting and be wary.
  11. The google analysis says that malicious software was found on it and was down loaded from it on the 29th of April. If someone knows who the site belongs to then best let them know, they may know already.
  12. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/6273-another-updated-afag.html Afag 308 STRONGLY recommends a mountaineer style helmet. This is un upgrade. I don`t know if thats what is meant. The montain style lids are more but they last 3 years rather than 2 and are way more comfy. Someone else might have more explicit info.
  13. They use ink caps in alcohol aversion therapy (or a derivation you`d think) it causes someone who mixes with alcohol to very rapidly get the most unpleasant hang-over imaginable, hence, the theory goes, after a while you wouldn`t want to touch a drop. Havn`t tried it though!
  14. Be careful with parsol mushrooms, they can make some people really ill. Wood Blewits are pretty good and quite easy to identify. beef steak is edible but nothing special, needs a sauce Then of course there is the good old field mushroom, not to be confused with the yellow stainer or horse mushroom. The edible bolete is easy to identify also. You could always try jews ear if you`re into tasteless chewy stuff! needs a sauce also!
  15. Looks like its NFU then! Thanks
  16. saint georges mushrooms are good and they`re right in season. bit early for sparrasus crispa, if thats spelt right but its one of my favourites.
  17. what was your front mount chipper insured as? ...if thats not a really stupid question, also did you pay excess? Cheers again.
  18. Its insurance time for me. I`ve got a quote from NFU which is ok. However, my current insurer pointed out that the NFU chipper cover is non specific and claimed that people have had problems when their chipper goes walkies because they are only insured as a trailer. Has anyone heard of or had any problems with this side of the cover. Cheers.
  19. I use the sordin ones and they are much better, a bit hotter in the summer!
  20. Worked in, but not for, the garden of a guy from radiohead, don`t know his name. The tree fell from a piece of land that i wardened. He came and said hello, nice enough.
  21. Cheers for that. Its been worrying me for a while.
  22. .. and at what point does it become necessary. Its a slightly abstract point at the moment because i don`t have a carriers liscence but its good to know what to aim at!
