Would anyone that is using the x170 and using a Stein lid kindly take a photo of where they have it mounted on the helmet please. I've offered it up and I can still see the little grey bit on the helmet on the bottom of the little screen. As soon as thats sorted I can begin making some poor quality videos that are littered with swear words. Many thanks.

What Tony says is right. Cover it in oil and as long as he hasn't completely mullered it, it should be fine. Just out of interest, if your saw is "prized", why lend it out at all? Couldn't you have said "Don't lend my work tools out, sorry, but slip me a drink and I'll come and sort it for you one afternoon" Not picking an arguement, just what I would have done.

From the looks of it, I'd have said so, can never be too sure from photos though and as Tony says, if its got decay, its your call!!!! If it was me and its ok, I'd stick a pulley block just above the split, secure the tip end with a throwline and pop that through another pulley up second tree. Couple of lowering ropes and a tag line somewhere in the middle to guide it and Roberts your Mother's brother. (ps, If it goes the shape of the pear and you get it stuck even more, I didn't tell you to do it!!)

What about 2 redirect pulleys to basket lift it with a tag line to pull out?
