  1. Wonder what they are going to do in the summer when demand for firewood is lower ?
  2. Hope your daughter makes a speedy recovery. I've got a baby daughter myself and worry like hell about her even though she is fit and well, so cannot even imagine the nightmare that you've been through.
  3. Was going for the traditional turkey, but the only ones Sainsbury's had left were the monster birds that feed a dozen people, so we are having goose instead which will be interesting as I've never tried it before. It must beat last year when I had cheese on toast ! Whatever you are having, have a happy Xmas. Paul
  4. Firefox mainly. But might download Google Chrome for a change.
  5. Reckon it's got to be the Garmin Edge GPS for my bicycle.
  6. Thinking about doing the FdSc in Arboriculture at Askham Bryan next year on a part time basis. Anybody else doing / done it and if so how many days a week it is ?? Considered doing the online course at Myersclough, but don't feel that I'm disciplined enough. Paul

  8. PM'd Mr Jones all the best, Paul
  9. No, the only person you have to file your accounts with is the taxman and that information is kept confidential.
  10. Cant agree with you more. Went to the National Memorial Arobretum last month. Makes you realise how many people have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
  11. Hi, Try High Peak Firist Aid based up in the Peak District. Did a wilderness first aid course with them and they are spot on and make things relevant. Paul
  12. Put X-Factor on the missus. It keeps her 'occupied' and gives me chance to look at Arbtalk in peace. (Well thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it). PS. I reckon Alexandras going to win.
  13. Anybody see the new Cadbury's ad during the X Factor last night with the Bonnie Tyler track on it. Didn't think it was as good as the original Phil Collins one. Just seen this one on YouTube which I thought was cleverly done: [ame= ] [/ame]
  14. I bet there is a Florists forum somewhere going look at those arborists - don't they realise our costs etc. LOL!!
  15. Hi, I wonder if any body could help me identify this tree. many thanks Paul
  16. IMO I think that one contributory factor that has been overlooked and has added to the banks problems is credit card debt. A lot of people are defaulting on their cards or only paying the minimum which is really stuffing the banks cash flow and they find it more difficult to claw back than a mortgage default. I don't think we will be in the clear until the LIBOR rate has dropped as that is more of an accurate barometer to whether bank interest rates will drop. And the housing market won't recover until they have become more affordable and more inline with a reasonable multiple of peoples incomes for mortgages. I bet the banks drop the rates on my savings account quickly though.
  17. Like the new site Steve. Very clean and easy to navigate around. Have you plans to design an Arbtalk logo ? If so how about a competition ?
  18. Ditto. We have had that from our lecturers too. I maybe tempting getting ranted at at but I think it may be an age thing too. I think when you are a bit younger you have a little too much confidence and take what people say as gospel especially when it is complementary from peers such as tutors.

  20. I was able to get onto arbtalk.co.uk ok, it was when I tried to access the forum that I had problems.
  21. I had problems accessing Arbtalk this morning, but it seems ok this afternoon. Put it down to the t'internet being busy due to the minging weather.
  22. Once stood queue at Alicante airport for about an hour for the wrong flight. Luckily, the wife has an obsession about setting off very early (she is always convinced we are going to get held up in traffic), so we managed to check in for the right flight just in time.
  23. Hi, Has anyone had any success with adding their business to Google maps ? I think the advantages are that you appear at the top of the search page and its free. The downside is that any local competition that has registered appears there too. Paul
