  1. Top video. Can't work out who is crazier - the guy on the surf board or the guy getting the hook out of the sharks mouth.
  2. The upper Derwent Valley(the valley that the Dambusters practiced in) is one of my favourite bits of the Peak. Especially the walk back along the top on the eastern (Sheffield) side and dropping down into the Ladybower Inn for a pint at the end !
  3. Last month someone I know had a couple of 'tradesmen' remove four 20ft conifers (with a bowsaw) and remove all the rubbish for £100 cash. These guy's even made a 30 mile round trip in there flatbed to do the job. My mate 'discovered' them 'cos they wanted to put an ad in his Post Office (the usual garden maintenance, flat roofs, jobbing building, I can do anything (badly) type). As my mate who is tighter than two layers of paint pointed out he could not even hire a skip to do the job himself for that money and in his eyes was a deal to good to turn down. Which is fair enough except when they stuff up and have no PLI and I doub't if the conifers ever made it back out of the Peak District.
  4. £15 is a bit steep, especially when you think that they make quite a few bob out of the cost of the exhibitors stands and there is meant to be a credit crunch on. I think they are shooting themselves in the foot 'cos if they get less (potential) punters through the gates I'm sure a few exhibitors will think twice about going again. I just hope they don't charge extra for parking like they do for shows at the NEC.
  5. Hi, The boring answer is that it's on Greenpeace Internationals website as forests are one of their 'big things' at the moment. The mind boggles on what keyword tags they've used on Youtube though !
  6. Hi All, I don 't post much 'cos I'm a new at this game (I'm enrolled on National Award in Aboriculture at Broomfield College near Derby in September). I do enjoy reading the posts though as I feel it does give me a bit of a (relatively) bull free insight into working as an arborist. I've just found this YouTube video however that made me chuckle with regards to your original question about why we like trees: [ame= ] [/ame] all the best, Paul

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
