  1. looking for a change of processor, had a japa and a hakki, so wondered what your thoughts were on other models. i do arb waste, and the nice straight pricey stuff too i also have a 30ton posch too, so even considering getting a saw bench, the only problem i see with that is where to get the blade sharpened/repaired, as our local ones have closed down cos the sawmills have gone. opinions are welcome and encouraged from the dealers on here too
  2. Unfortunately you guess wrong :-( And all the coal is underground and staying there!!!
  3. Well when the beer money boys decide demand has forced them to buy in the wood, and realise its not as easy as they once thought, you'll see an increase in their price. Quality!!! Buy cheap, buy twice!!!! I put a lot of work and effort into creating a good product for the customer, so I'm not prepared to give it away!!!
  4. not really true, why would the cost be any cheaper just because its wales??? are those the going rates rates for your area, or you undercutting everyone??? it all depends on the area, and city prices compared to rural prices and the overheads, not forgetting haulage. Five miles to you will be cheaper than 50 miles to me. So if you cant get it cheap, you cant sell it cheap!!
  5. burning yew, leylandii and maccrocarpa and about to faint from the heat, even with the fire on low. its been lit since 4.30 and still on its second load of 3 logs at a time:thumbup1: not burnt a hardwood species in nearly 2 years now:thumbup:
  6. do you have kids?? think you might need to ask not to derail the thread if you just want a money answer good luck finding one on here though, stick it all in gold
  7. luftwaffe, the way i see this is as follows, we all have different personal priorities, you asked the question, but dont like the answers if they are not financially profitable!!
  8. i've got a hunter herald 8, no probs here with the glass, but i only burn nice dry softwood if i do have a haze on the glass then i use warm soapy water was told if glass was really black, then use vinegar and newspaper
  9. i believe he invested it in his children, showing them the world and giving them am insight into thier future choices. have to say, not a bad one either i'd doo the same if i was comfortable, but prob hold out for property to start climbing, then buy and sell like in the 90s
  10. and moneys no good when your dead and as yet, you cant buy a time machine!!
  11. guess they wont be burning my wood this year then, about time they did some work:001_cool:
  12. is that cathays cem??? i got a ms200 rear handle if interested t,bear, too small for me
  13. dont forget the second tractor needed to run it
  14. if the poles are on your land, arnt you supposed to get rent for them???
  15. I'm sure when I did my hgv test all unmarked bridges are 16feet 6inches high or more. And from working with bt on street trees I thought all overhead cables had to be 5.5 meters at the lowest point (sag). I might be wrong though!!
  16. Try lee@ G. M. Insurance, 01392 426799. I had the same problem with skidsteer and lee sorted me out at half the price of Nfu. It's actually insured with Jcb insurance !!
  17. Ha ha, where did you find a small man and dog ???
  18. i think thats the way to do it, anything outside of 7-8 miles i charge £1 per mile to cover the fuel and time. besides, anything i have delivered always comes with a charge, so why shouldnt I !!!
  19. I've worked out it costs me £0.225 per mile just in fuel, so 40 mile round trip looses me £9.00. The time taken can loose me at least a cubic meter in productivity, so a min of £60 + fuel+ labour Hmm I can stay at home and loose money easier!!!
  20. And what do you class as your local area??? How much do you think is lost on free deliveries and productivity on any delivery over 10 miles?? ( that's a 20 mile round trip and approx £5 fuel)
