  1. Hi Gibbon, I did speak to them...seemed really freindly, did you pay a lot more than what 4x4 play were selling? and what was the turn around for bulding the back?
  2. Thanks for the input sounds like i should steer clear from them....i have purchased a dodge motor in the past and know all to well how much grief it can cause.
  3. Hi, i am looking at buying a land rover 130 tipper. I was just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with this company. Any comments or views welcome.
  4. Thanks for the input...i will be looking at getting a hicap later in the year but it seems quite difficult to find a decent one that has'nt been abused. Yours seems the perfect one for me....nice looking landy mate! If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for her?
  5. What probs did you have with the TD5?
  6. Strugling to get the wagons up the hill now because of the snow to get the wood away. May have to invest in some snow chains.
  7. Started this job last week. 3 x beech to fell...logwood removed by a couple of quads to trucks up the top of a hill and all branches burnt on site:thumbup1: The sort of job that makes me glad to be doing what i do:001_smile: These are the pics of the second beech...which was a straight fell :thumbup1:which produced the kindling.
  8. Just be careful when just putting the extra just for the lights, i got stung for the councils admin fees of £150.....which i didnt price for in the job!!
  9. Only going by what my local dealer has said to me. I guess they need to get rid of all the 361's that are in store at the mo!
  10. So is mine:001_smile: Had my mechanic play with the pump so now has a lot more power! not that it was slow to start with:thumbup1:
  11. From what i have been told there are no plans on bringing it into the country for sale through the dealer network.
  12. Give Paddington Road Springs a call. They kept the original springs in place and slipped in an extra 3! Effectivly turned the truck into a 5.5 tonner!....not legally of course:thumbup1::Is yours the Hpi version or the manual pump?
  13. Hi woodpicker have you got uprated springs on the Iveco? Done mine back in the summer....very good investment Will get the front one done when i can afford it!
  14. It looks cool at college when you say you got heated handles:biggrin: I agree complete waist of time in Sussex.
  15. NFU are an odd lot i tried to get a quote from from Shreks girl.....but couldnt quote because i was out of the area, then rang my local office and they couldnt even provide a quote. So stuck with trust.
  16. Hi mate, give my mate doug a call from Brighton, he may be able to help...i would of had a look but am to busy at mo his number is 07870 607 905
  17. I guess i will never know for sure.....but by going from what the pro says, it was the bearing bolt that come loose and threw the fly wheel out of balance so in turn the blade edge hit the anvil....then smash!!
  18. Imo you cant change the blades enough....as for bolts its not an issue because they are replaced every third blade change! as they are cheap. It wasnt blade failure that caused the problem it was the bearing that came loose and forced the blade into the anvil!!
  19. Could have been the case....not sure. I have faith in the guy doing it now, he knows the machine inside out. Hes names Charles at Arbrep, had many years experience at Redwood and now gone it alone.
  20. It looks like it was the front bearing bolt (engine end) and yes the anvil was in tiny bits....a bit annoying as it was only a couple of months old!
  21. I have 1400 hrs on mine and is still in very good condition, blades are always sharp and changed approx every 10-15 hrs. Only done the springs a couple of times....as for the rollers the top one i have sharpened twice and is ok but the bottom one was blunt, but isnt now! because the machine is in bits so a good opportunity to do it. How do you reach your bottom roller when in place to sharpen? Because its a bloody nightmare...and do you use an angle grinder?
  22. My mechanic has just told me that the bolt holding on one of the bearings was loose! He usually needs a long handle to undo them....but it easily came off with a spanner!!! So thats why it failed!!!!
  23. Jensen 528, second time within about nine months...this time its blown the two bearings to bits, the anvill is in bits and the flywheel has the fins bent round...all in about £1200 worth of damage, right before Chistmas:thumbdown: I couldnt be more of a tart with my machine....i really watch what i put through it, always sharp blades...cleaned before put in and everything torqed up to manufacterers spec. In all of my 17 years of tree work and having used every make and model of machine it has to happen to mine twice....am i just unlucky?
  24. I am getting the container cheap as they want shot of them.... and there in very good nick! I refuse to let it beat me and concider it a bit of a chalenge With boys toys and all that!!!
  25. The container is 20ft! Sounds like it could be a bit long winded across two large fields. but if it comes to it its an option. Cheers Dean:001_smile:
