  1. That would be cool.
  2. Took the crown was taken out last thursday came back today to take the rest of it down. Real shame to loose the tree. It had Meripilus and the owner decided to take it down. Its was a TPO tree so the we will grind out the stumps and the owner is going to plant an Oak in its place.
  3. I think its a good idea. I have an old one that I want to do.
  4. Today I pulled away with the chipper detatched but the draw bar handle under the bit the towbar is bolted to on the landy. Cheap crappy draw bar handle bent and crumpled. Had to bend it all back with an adjustable so we could get it on again.
  5. Sounds exactly like a catipillar I found last Tuesday on a holm Oak in Westbury. Did it have a yellow mohawk and a band of hair on the sides ? I couldnt ID it with my book.

  8. I think its more to do with population densities, not realy seing much mixy round here at the moment.
  9. Cheers Monkeyd. I have been quite enthusiastic about coronet cuts, although I havent really had the opportunity to do to many and dont really see allot where I live. Im just trying to re asses my views on things at the moment in preperation for the tech cert exam in June.

  11. What do people think about the idea that coronet cutting a piece of dead wood can actualy inhibit decay because of the thin film of chain oil left on the wood? This idea was brought up at college and is bassed on research done at Windsor park. I have not actually seen anything written about it. Can anyone point me in the right diriection? Does anyone have any photos of coronet cuts that were done 5 - 10 years ago ?
  12. Ive just started mine to. Im doing it in Guildford which is a bit far but Im hoping to see it through. If you can get it done now, you might not have time to do it in the future either. Our Television broke 2 weeks ago and I'm finding that I am achieving so much more since it died. Good luck Hope you stick with it.
