    do not hire your chipper out unless you know the end user. Last summer we were using a 6 inch, hired jenson over 12 hours a day for 3 months with 3 people feeding it and even though it was not abused it was ruined. There is reason that the cheapest tracked chipper you can hire is over £400 a week, £20,800 a year.

    Towed my 8 tonne forwarding trailer down to Cheshire to its new owner (only about 40 miles), discovery pulled it well on the motorway was surprised Just kidding, only towed it round the yard

    Anyone know of a hire shop in Hull area to get 6 inch tracked chipper for Thurs & Fri. On the off chance if anyone knows of a couple of wood chipper operators who want work for a few days to join climber and groundsman let me know. cheers

    anyone recommend me a hire company in Hull area for a basic 6 inch TW or similar for around £400 a week.

    Unfortunately imo to win larger jobs thats just the way it is, I think you just performed an operation as part of the quoting process. You could have provided a quote to do a very basic survey, but another company would have come along and completed it as part as the quoting process. Larger jobs can take 4 - 6 hours to complete. How long did you spend on the quote & how long would it have took a 3 man team to complete.

    Is this trailer any good to you, 6-8 tonne tipper, if your not tipping and use bigger bolsters will carry 10, not as wide as a unimog.

    yeah NFU are excellent, I rang the director of local branch yesterday morning on his mobile (their closed on Saturday but still got back to me) and told him what had happened and he told me to go and buy full replacement kit that day.

    Wo wo wo, its not that bad, lets put things in perspective it only gear thats replaceable by good insurance cover. Yes its inconvenient and mucked up my weekend, but its not as if my family have had there house burnt down and being chased through the congo with machetes. I would never let myself get so bothered over equipment even if it was brand new yesterday. I pay £30 a month so I dont have to worry.
