  1. Anyone know where I can buy / rent one, thanks,
  2. Any suggest a supplier of tree seed, for a hydroseed mix, cheers
  3. I wish I had bid. The starting bid was £160 and could have sold for much more, obviously he would have delivered in a number of loads but for that price I could have hauled it and made.
  4. so if you had a member of staff who had driven a tractor for years but never ever erected a fence using a post knocker or wire strainers, you would be happy to send them to site with materials and machinery and tell them to work it out themselves as its common sense?
  5. I have a few new lads who I would like to provide training for in using a post knocker and wire strainers etc, anyone in the Lancs, Merseyside area or further a field willing to travel want to put themselves forward as a trainer for a day or two on a day rate. I will provide all materials and tractor and knocker etc.
  6. Anyone in Woolacombe, need a large looking at tomorrow, and the possibility of a contractor carry the work out, thanks
  7. Obviously Fendt and Valtra are the obvious ones, but can other tractors be converted. I believe it costs about £4k to convert a valtra can this also be undertaken on a fastrac or a John Deere?
  8. should have googled first, just found this http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/fr_advice_note_oak_processionary_moth.pdf/$FILE/fr_advice_note_oak_processionary_moth.pdf
  9. Human health care rather than tree health care.... I have received some promotional literature from a well known Vacuum Cleaner manufacturer suggesting I should get involved in hoovering up caterpillars in urban parks and woodlands around oak trees due to major human health problems associated with the thousands of tiny hairs that snap off Caterpillars and become potentially inhaled. Is this a well known threat or are sales low on vacuum cleaners this time of year
  10. The best idea of all
  11. I really miss being a Countryside Ranger I worked as a Volunteer for 6 months and then full time between 2006-2008 at West Lancs District Council. They then paid for my CS31 and I moved to tree work etc. Nothing more satisfying than building a wooden bridge over a stream in a nice woodland If they had paid more than the £11k I received I probably would have stayed!
  12. Still looking for an undercarriage off anything between 9 and 18 tonnes, will pay a finder fee if anyone can get me one. thanks,
  13. pm cheers
  14. anyone got a yard where I can stick some machinery tonight till tomorrow morn
  15. looking for someone to do 2 days milling for me, thanks
  16. can someone point me in the direction of a website, or just a quick insight into what the hp of Valtra models 2000 onwards are and what numbers mean... i.e. N92, M120, A95, T162, 6850, 8000, and what years models ran to and from, many thanks,
  17. Stump Grinder Blackburn, Chainsaw / groundsman in Barnsley.
  18. Mainly chipping but some saw work also ring Sam 07595 392212, Happy for a climber to do work etc,
  19. ring Sam 07595 392212, stump grinder ticket not essential, stump grinder can be provided or use your own if you have one.
  20. Need a chipper operator in Barnsley tomorrow 7:30am pref with cscs card but not essential: 0789 2828286 ,
  21. you could buy a brand new chipper with out the axles etc special order no probs. I would seriously think about having the chipper with its own engine, the hydraulic power required to run a just a 6 inch chipper is insane and would cost you £9k+ just for a powerful enough hydraulic set up with a big enough hydraulic motor and pump and cooler etc and still would give you rubbish power, no one does it and there is a reason, the chippers for skidsteer / bobcat you can buy which have hi-flow hydraulics to run attachments have very poor chipping power. If you don't need much chip space forget the tail lift and mount the chipper on the the actual truck either behind the crane so you can still tip backwards or at the back of the truck and tip sideways, and shorten the tipper body.
  22. so am I right in thinking your going to try and power your chipper with a hydraulic motor running off a hydraulic pump on the pto
  23. In which case buy a towable chipper strip the axles and front frame and have it permanently on a tail lift and have a 3-way tipper so you can tip side ways (saves you taking the chipper of the tail lift), you might even get a small tracked chipper on the tail lift, or if you stripped a 10 inch chipper you might get down to 1.4 tonne you could then crane feed that side ways, you would be better buying a light forestry crane with grab set up already that would but be fine running of the a hydraulic PTO or a 24 volt hydraulic pump, the crane would not fold up but would be miles better and would just lye across the length of the vehicle, you can buy a mechanical pto unit to put on any any vehicle but you would need serious gearbox upgrade cause of the stress of chipping,
