  7. I learnt to climb by having to paint the cuts after the climber had been round pruning. Messy bloody job that was but taught me how to get right out to the end of the branches:thumbup:
  8. Haha. So do we, but then had the roof converted to a room and stairs up in.... .... Still the sofa is comfy when I can't make it up then!
  9. He has so many beers to numb the pain of climbing all day, he doesn't have to worry about getting up any stairs!
  10. One of the places near me the van went to had cctv, so the film was given to the police. This was in Fenns Lane in West End.
  11. I heard yesterday there is a travelling camp moved on to land at Runfold, and a silver transit type van with an Irish driver been offering chainsaws has been seen in my area. Runfold is not far from Godalming. May not be connected though.
  12. The crewcab tranny I was given to use a few years ago, when I worked for someone else, weighed 3t empty with all the equipment loaded, only leaving 0.5t payload before being overloaded. :eek:

  14. I was also advised by my local chainsaw repair man to give the 441 a miss and go for the 461 instead.
  15. I'm still looking for a climber either in the books or 3 days a week subbing. Could also do with an extra pair of hands on Monday and Tues next week if any one is free, climber or groundie. Cheers Al

  17. I've got a spider jack as well, had it nearly 2 years now and not had to replace anything yet. I'm not one for bombing out of trees though, just use it nice and gently.

  21. It's not hard to make sure the cap is on properly I had an eBay cap a little while ago and didn't even fit:banghead: Stihl caps only for me.
