  1. Exactly what I was getting at. You can not claim for a Chinese every Saturday though, this guy thought he was getting away with doing that but wasn't. Get a good accountant and ask him any questions you have.
  2. Talking to the accountant the other day about a guy that even claims for his chinese etc. Was informed that a lot of people think they can claim for anything but there job is to reject (wrong word)some of the stuff that is iffy that people present. Most times you will never know that it has happened unless you ask.If he doesn't do that he and you will have problems with the taxmanl.
  3. When did you purchase the land. The reason i ask is if the guy put up the fence before you bought it it is technicaly yours;ie land on your title deeds. But he might claim squatters rights if not and you would have to go to court (more expense) to put your case forward. As for the boundry it was an unwritten rule in the farming community that you had a fence and your neighbour had one approx 3 ft apart. The waste ground in the middle belonged to nobody (it was just a security border). It just goes to show if you've got money some people will always try to take advantage. I don't think what your doing pricewise is excessive in the circumstance therefore all i can say is good luck, i think you will need it and stick to your "guns".
  4. Often the electric company's prefer to do it themselves that is why then can drag there feet with permits. They will also do the job free for the customer.
  5. It's sometimes better to let them think that they have beat you than cause a fuss. You'll get your own back on him yet and he wont even know. There's all old saying "what goes around comes around".
  6. My names there and good luck. Some council's will sell / close anything then have a fanefare in a couple of years saying what a good job they have done opening the new facilities that they closed in the first place. Good excuse for a free lunch it doesn't matter where you live there all the same.
  7. That was a funny story but that's "life".
  8. This is a difficult one,not to sign but to make it valid. This happened up our neck of the woods and the council dicounted the signatures because they knew that it some were done online. The reason they gave was because you could use multi signatures with no trace.
  9. We always use 25-1 and never had a problem but use good oil. It would get a bit difficult to have different mixes when your using strimmers etc as well. Better too much lube than not enough.

    Nissan navana

Decided on the hilux 200 and i hope i haven't made a mistake. I liked the new Mitsi L200 but it was like going out into the north sea on a fishing boat.(IMO). Just wondering whats the best dual purpose tyres to fit?.
  11. Sorry to hear about your situation. Reading between the lines it would appear that you have been used with the work that you did but i might be wrong. There is a lot of companies now pay you off with immediate effect to stop vandalism. You should pick something up with your experience even outside tree work.
  12. I must be older than you as i was on less than £2.00 a "week". Two hunded pound's for a day grafting is not a lot, does that include your traveling time?. As has been stated before you are up against someone whose on the dole etc therefore it depend's on outside factors.
  13. I can't understand why you would need an 60-80 horse machine Check out some of the chinese imports some are ok some are crap "do you homework" before you buy. I think some of the small massies and jcb are made there now. Was in past a dealer this week and he had a 135 with loader and he was needing £4900 for a straight sale. Whatever you do it will cost you money,my brother has just done up an old nuffield to off farm condition and it cost him roughly £6000. We sold a 7 year old one in the late sixties for £180.
  14. Yes but if you take your time and fuel etc into it you have given them away for FREE. Better to charge when he uplifts.
  15. Had a chat with my accountant (as you do) about this on thurs and he advises if you can afford it buy it outright.I think if you were needing a fleet it would be different story as you can send them back ,with a penalty or would depend on your agreement.
  16. Anybody got a nissan navarna, are they any good or is there better for comfort etc?.
  17. I think you would have reasonable grounds to bill you’re customer ie; the neighbour not the owner as he did not contact you (I presume). That doesn’t mean you will get payed though but you can only try. But you might have been stiched up by the owner as he was maybe wanting to see your price.
  18. http://www.abbeygardensales.co.uk/shredders-chippers/commercial-chippers/showitem-BEA01.asp I think the person must have made a mistake or was just deaming.

    Bad Payers!

Our accountant puts on a surcharge if your account is not settled on or before a certain date. I find professional people (with money)are the worst payers and i tread carefully and pray.

    I hate these

I have a bee in my bonnet as i was taken in with one, no picture but was assured it was a proper husky. Needless to say it was dropped off at the guys doorstep after i was refunded fully. It was a terrible flimsy saw imo.
