  1. This one got replaced by an Iveco , had a couple of clutch and gearbox issues and running strong on 210 thousand and definitely turned over some money and is now the local team bus . This was replaced with a Iveco 3 litre which is going strong . I tend to replace the vans for the teams that do the more miles with newer ones and the local team get the hand me downs.
  2. This is a great way of putting a value to this , I had a 2011 transit sold it at 185 thousand , hardly had a spanner to it apart from regular servicing . It had a new intercooler but that was it , no clutch or transmission issues whatsoever .Easily earnt over a million and was still going until November this year ,
  3. Do any of the single/king cab trucks tow 3.5 tons?
  4. I have a whippet , doesn't shed , likes to be out and about as much as on the couch at home .Try JR Whipet rescue on FB . They have them come up quite often .
  5. I'm looking for additional help shortly for a ground based cutters , climbers may also be helpful .Usual certs and CSCS card helpful however can be arranged . Anyone interested PM Me .
  6. Its something clients are asking for now . To be fair most other qualifications such as machinery operations ect require refresher or resits . With my assessors head on and not contractors I might run some refresher courses on the Devon Somerset border this summer if there is enough interest . I've just got to get some spiking poles set up and I'm good to go .
  7. Gristwood are really near there they take it
  8. If people don't like the wages learn to type and leave the industry . All this talk of everyone else getting all this money is as bad as farmers . I've lads on decent money leave because they can get double elsewhere just to bounce around from job to job for years after . Usually the ones with this talk aren't even a week in hand with payments and hassling for payment within minutes of finishing the job . If I could lay bricks maybe I would but I know it wouldn't be straight and I would want to live in a house I'd built as I've not the eye for it . I've enjoyed tree work and couldn't imagine doing anything else . As for a short career as a subbie climber I agree but it longer than it was . A lot of the big stuff is done mechanically and lifting equipment with avant and diggers makes bigger work just fun now.
  9. Exactly the sort of money my subbies are getting , I supply the saws and fuel as I'm bored of lads turning up with broken saws so I think they are doing pretty well . On this there are those that completely take the piss for this type of return also .
  10. As per the title can anyone reccomend a grapplesaw operator in the Bolton area . That is all thank you
  11. I still have a complete one with a damaged winch which could be repaired with the right pair of hands . Strictly collection only though . Devon?Somerset border
  12. Housing for youngsters is terrifying , the rental market round here is probably the same as the rest of the country . Its never been so easy being in arb and living in the countryside finding accommodation. New builds are awful and a single person is pretty much priced out of the market . I've done some domestic works at estate type properties and they have empty cottages which I just don't understand .
  13. I am looking for staff for a couple of roles as usual Commercial climbing arborist with the usual quals and ground staff/landscape operatives to assist with the tree teams and undertake fencing ground based de veg works and landscaping .Machine certs would be helpful . PAYE or regular part time self employed . Call 07855 316780
  14. The annoying thing I questioned their ability to pay when the spec on the job changed I had promises it was all good , my advise when working for a recently formed company get a written directors guarantee. It will be interesting to see what the debts are as they were only trading a few years ,my accountant has said 60 k to hmrc which must mean they made alot surely .
  15. The company directors involved are now both working for a company owned by their wives and all absolutely legal .
