  1. I have added a very small video clip taken from a recent photo shoot. At the top of the tree was a cameraman wearing a Stein System, both the Climber and Groundsman had a system and also the video cameraman. At all times these 4-people were in communication with each other and knew what was about to happen from the instructions given by the Climber. You will see the climber talking and the groundsman looks up at him - no shouting needed over the chipper running or the traffic. 2. The 2011 Arb Show was a little different for us this year, in past years we have presented a Static Display booth but this year we hosted a STEIN Sponsored demonstration area based on Good Rigging Practices. Richard and Andy from Kingswood Training Services presented informative talks based on Rigging over the two days. These talks were well attended and hopefully encouraged those who have not undertaken their ticket for rigging to do so. Safe Rigging = Safe Workforce Lantra and NPTC approved Tree Surgery Training Courses | Kingswood Training - Chainsaw Training, Arb Training, Climbing Courses, Forestry Courses I would also personally like to thank the following people for their help and hard work both during the show and the setup days. Without this help exhibits would not happen. Reg Coates Nick & Elaine Pott Josie Pott Steve Gale David Perkins I would also like to thank all Arbtalkers who came along and took time out of their day to listen to the talks. Finally to the AA Team for hosting the show. Thank you to all. Nigel Fletcher – Fletcher Stewart
  3. Just released by the TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association) a new book dedicated to rigging "Best Practices for Rigging in Arboriculture". This book will be exhibited at the Arb Show next week where you will be able to place pre-orders with stocking dealers. TCIA has appointed Fletcher Stewart as the UK supplier of this exciting new book and will be availble from mid-July onwards.
  4. We will be demonstrating the new STEIN Push-Talk-Listen Communication System at the Arb Show next week. This is a simple but effective communication system offering unlimited user interface. The system is in final stages of development and will be available for purchase later this year.
  5. They will be coming to the USA later this year and will be available to purchase from STEIN USA
  6. Hi Mick, These have actually been out field tested for nearly 18-months by some very well known people. Come and see them at the ARB Show and try them on for size and fit i think you will be impressed.
  7. Introducing the NEW STEIN "Revolution" Chainsaw Trousers Available in both front protection (Type A) and all round protection (Type C) along with standard leg and long leg versions. The REVOLUTION trousers have been fitted with a unique heat protection area on the right thigh (patent pending); this material is manufactured from NOMEX® and is designed to protect the trousers from accidental burning from chainsaw exhausts. These trousers have been tested and certified in the UK to EN 381-5 Class 1 (20 m/s) by SATRA. These trousers will be officially launched at the ARB Show in Cirencester 10th 11th June
  8. The Twig and the Bear entertaining the crowd at the 2011 Cutters & Climbers event.
  9. Great pictures Theocus, nice to see you are getting the full benefit of the trolley and proving its rightful place in any arborist arsnel of tools . For those who would like to see the Arbor-Trolley in its flesh as they say there will be a couple of them on display at Capel Manor this weekend.
  10. to many variants involved to answer this 100%, who did the splice, to whos instructions, to whos specification, etc. sorry. the only thing that is consitant is each factory splice is constructed to the same standard.
  11. There is a myth that Yale use a machine to manufacture the splice, rope goes in one end out pops a splice. The Yale splice is actually manufactured by hand, the only part the machine undertakes is to consistantly bury the splice which enables them to maintain the inner core. Unfortunatly this machine is kept secret so no pictures, but best described as a large hydraulic ram which pulls the rope through. Once thisprocess is completed the splice returns to the bench to be finsihed again by hand. So a splice manufactured in the morning is the same as one manufactured in the afternoon as the splicer is not fatigued by burying the splice by hand. This also enables Yale to apply the CE standard to their eyes.
  12. Both versions will have a SRP of £57.50 +vat
  13. Great idea Mick, but it would be upto the individual dealers who are selling them to decide this one. Unfortunatly at the moment they are in short supply and customers who have them on backorder must take priority on delivery. Forgot to add in my previous post that the Box Section used in the main body of the Arbor-Trolley is using 4mm+ walled box.
  14. To ensure the strength of this product and give it a 500kg payload we opted to use heavier duty box section than normal. This box section has a wall thickness of over 3mm, not cheap 1mm walled box section like mass produced products from the far east. This box section adds a premium to the overall cost. Produced in the UK supporting UK Manufacturing.
  15. Keep an eye out for the New ISC Block at the AA Trade Fair with curved edges, these will be a little more expensive than the current version.
  16. The good news for you all is they arrive here NEXT WEEK. very shortly i will post a picture of the 2 versions which will be available. Yes they look really smart and yes the Logo Positions and size have changed so you can brand them in your company details. Watch this space
  17. Thanks for posting the pictures Gareth and showing how veratile the Arbor-Trolley really is both for Arb work and Landscaping work. I am sure in time you will find even more uses for this peice of equipment. Fencing posts next maybe?
  18. Theocus, can i suggest you simply pick up the telephone and talk with us first to discuss this issue pior to airing your option without having discussed and being explained the facts as to why there is some play. You can contact us very easily by calling us 0161 483 5542 thank you.
  19. Thanks for pointing that out Mike, an early morning typo error.

Remember guys that these trousers have now done the job they were designed for. Both your acidents could have been alot worse than just a bloody knee. see the video on the other thread where they put a saw into a ham, this could have been your legs!!! During the very expensive testing proceedure, to test the trousers the saw is first calibratied at 20m/s, then it is brought back up to speed. As it is dropped on to the trousers all the power is taken off the saw so the test is on a slow down, not on a full power. You want higher protection to combat the saws which you are using which vastly exceed the 20m/s which both Hi-Flex and Stretch-Air are designed too; come to think of it the majority of the trousers on the market are? Higher protection is already available and has been available in Class 2 protection @ 24m/s for sometime now. Unfortunatly people claim they are to heavy and not sold in the numbers like class 1. I guess there is a lot of R&D going on at the moment to design and produce lighter materials. Should these companies stop investing their money now? or should they try their best to satisfy eveyones needs. Protection is a line of defence not unltimate armour.
  21. This is a strict no go. You should never interfer with the inter protection with any stitching.
