  1. Hi Steve, Good question. We are looking for something imaginative, could be one name followed by the colour or two seperate names which correspond with each other; for instance Yale have XTC FIRE and XTC Magma-ICE. One is a hot colour, one is a cold colour. Good luck to all that enter.
  2. Competition Yale Cordage are giving you the opportunity to create a name for their latest rope which will be launched in the UK at the ARB FAIR 11th 12th June. The person with the winning entry will win 2 hanks of the new rope Closing date for all entries will be 31st May 2010 This all new 12mm 24-strand climbing line from YALE CORDAGE is based on the same manufacturing process, construction, and success as the 11.7mm Blue Moon rope / Poison Ivy. This rope gives climbers all the advantages and characteristics of a lightweight 11.7mm rope but gives the feel of a 13mm rope in the hand. You can find all the details on this new rope and read some reviews by visiting the website www.nametherope.com To enter the competition also go to www.nametherope.com This competition is sponsored by

  4. It is important to point out that the Kask helmet you are testing is made of totally different materials to to Kask helmets here in Europe; these changes were made in order to meet the United States ANSI Z89 standard. Both the inner liner and the retention system (chinstrap and adjuster) are different to the EN12492 TC helmets we sell in the UK. It is also important to note that the inner linings of the kask helmets have been designed to be removed so they can be washed. These liners are also available as replacement parts which can be purchased from dealers.
  5. I would like to put the record straight regarding Fletcher Stewart and Jo-Beau. We advised Jo-Beau backend of last year that due to the current pricing structure and the euro exchange rate problem that the Jo-Beau product range is now out of reach in terms of price to the customer it was intended for. At present we have decided to discontinue promoting the range until further notice but will still support the product in terms of supply of spare parts. Our decission on this matter is purely a commercial one. The Jo-Beau product range remains one of the best on the market today.

  8. The CE version of PI has a Nylon Inner Core to higher the tensile stregnth and to give it the correct characteristics to meet the CE Standard. CE is much more stringent in testing than ANSI. The discisson not to make a CE version of Blue Moon was made in November.
  9. There are 2 versions of PI the original US version and the CE version. The CE version has a different inner core construction to the US version so it will meet en1891a. To tell them apart the CE version has a yellow flex woven into the outer sheaf. Both PI ropes are exclusive to SherrillTree. Blue Moon is the same construction as the US version of PI but has never be made as a CE version and Yale will not make it as a CE version.
  10. Parkside Training are holding an Aerial Rescue Awareness day at their training facility based in Heaton Park, Manchester on Monday 26th October. They only have a few spaces left available. This event carries a small charge of £30.00 per person which includes all refreshments and lunch The awareness day is designed to give you an insight into the type of training and qualifications your company or organisation requires to meet industry best practice. During the day Chris Cooper Abbs of "Theabsolutearbcompany" we will demonstrate various techniques to effectively rescue an injured climber from height and Meditrain will demonstrate how to administer emergency first-aid once rescued. To find out more about the Aerial Rescue Awareness Day contact Alan Mottram on 0161 740 3419 or email [email protected]

    Ascenders

ISC have a new range of hand ascenders on the market. Fitted with a pin to keep the cam from being opened. see this link http://www.iscwales.com/whatshot/2008/nov/index.htm
  12. There is a label inside the helmets which quote the standard the helmet conforms to. If you are unsure of which standard your helmet complies to check the label. It is a point of CE that all helmets carry this type of information.
  13. So there is no confusion the STEIN helmets are available in both EN397 and EN12492 versions.
