i like the BAR , every shed should have one!

had a pretty wet day today, saw trousers soaked through to boxers, had the c+c jacket on with just a t.shirt and stayed pretty much bone dry so pleased with that so far. waterproof zips on the side would be better and also i would put strong velcro tabs on the bottom instead of the poppers as they seem to open very easily. do people use them for heavier groundwork ( draggin etc)?? want to use it but cant afford to trash it too quick either. carl

heres one i made simple but really speeds up cutting cord, holds a fair bit too. the logs that are left under the strap are woodburner sized. carl

had a massive dilemma over the size as i seemed to be in between a small and medium, ended up with a medium which is a little big but i suspect the small would be too small, next time iam going to order both and pay one lot of carriage then return the worst fit. just need some rain now.!

thanks, the boss tends to go for thinning, but i think this can lead to the remaining limbs twisting more and cracking?? so the to reduce the long leaders is slow and awkward( for me anyhow) and then often looks a bit odd. just asking this as a lot of these trees have been hit bad here with the last mega wind. thanks again carl

any tips on thinning and reducing and making safe against future strong winds?? before and after photos would be nice too. done quiet a few but am keen to improve my techniques etc. thanks carl

new jacket is working a treat!! has not rained at work since i got it, TYPICAL , kinda wanted to test it out, probably wont have to wait too long really. carl

thats how i read it too. i think there should be a clear definition between brash dragger and groundy as their roles can be quiet different.

my work mate built his own similar one and on certain jobs( quite a lot) its worth its weight in gold, so i would say if you cant make one spend the money.

i have one on a 346 and seems to cut nice, the only problem is cant seem to dress it with a normal file! dosent need much dressing tho.

ok thanks, weather here lately seems to have upped its game big time so feel the need to get better gear. i dont find hoods that great with helmets so not too bothered about that. so worth the money then?? ive never spent this much on a jacket... then again never been totally dry either! carl

these jackets seem to get good reviews, i was just wondering how the sleeve cuffs where when descending a really wet rope? ie does it all pour down your sleeve thus bypassing the incredably waterproof exterior. hope that makes sense. thanks carl

one point not mentioned here( i think) in favour of srwp is the tie in point, this is generally way stronger and safer than with drt, as you can tie into the highest thinest point you dare and then run the rope lower and tie, ok its not going to be great if it snaps but at least you will still be in the tree. adam you say you use srwp 100%?? even on small dismantles? i use both systems thanks carl

i would of thought there would be a lot of pressure of those prussics?? id put the holding prussik as close to the end you pull by hand so its under the least pressure. we use a metal cam to fix onto the main line, easier to advance and stronger i guess, a usefull set up in the right place. carl.

no not really just more comfy and seem to move with your leg and dont move or twist, although to be fair iam not great on any spikes!

got the spikes and used the a couple of times and i am well pleased, very comfy and nice to wear, a definate improvment over the bosses alloy bashlins. thanks carl

had a gate spring on petzl ball lock fall apart and stop working today, anyone else had this happen?? it was on the throwing end of my lanyard so probably the most bashed crab but not that old either. carl

only for mowing or strimming, not for tree work as roaring at the top of your voice for more petrol is annoying.
