thats pretty good considering the time spent on it, better than what i could do. i've got a nice stump at the bottom of the garden i can try it out on, be the weekend before i have the time though.

When i started practicing my knots i was given a 7m length of rope by a mate who also climbs. Its 8-9mm and i was wondering if anyone knows what type it is. I wanted to use it for friction cord but i wont use it until i know for sure.

bob, my knife is normally tied onto my trousers with a length of cord and zipped in a pocket, same as my whistle.

i use a cheapo knife i picked up in a poundland shop. lasted years and holds a decent edge.

i have only ever used 9mm marlow, its ok for blakes or 6 wrap prusik(slips a bit on 4 wrap). if anyone recommends anything better i'll give it a try too.

a good tip, have faith in your kit. i didnt and suffered for the first morning of climbing. let us know how it goes. enjoy yourself:icon14:

i'll keep an eye out for you then:) i done my aerial rescue training on dartmoor in Dec, weather wasn't too bad but first time i got to the very top of my first tree 3 chinooks flew right over my head!! scary as hell!! best of luck anyway:icon14: -
that is a nice song roller, never listened to Cohen before. i'm listening to the shins, new slang. they done a lot of the soundtrack to the film Garden state, a film well worth watching. [ame] [/ame]
