  2. thats pretty good considering the time spent on it, better than what i could do. i've got a nice stump at the bottom of the garden i can try it out on, be the weekend before i have the time though.

  6. When i started practicing my knots i was given a 7m length of rope by a mate who also climbs. Its 8-9mm and i was wondering if anyone knows what type it is. I wanted to use it for friction cord but i wont use it until i know for sure.

  10. bob, my knife is normally tied onto my trousers with a length of cord and zipped in a pocket, same as my whistle.
  11. i use a cheapo knife i picked up in a poundland shop. lasted years and holds a decent edge.
  12. i have only ever used 9mm marlow, its ok for blakes or 6 wrap prusik(slips a bit on 4 wrap). if anyone recommends anything better i'll give it a try too.
