  1. Yes they are, got any evidence as to the differences? In the days of globalisation and manufacturers homogenising parts to save money why would they make a special different saw just for the UK market? if you can show me otherwise I'll stand corrected.....
  2. The EU spec dolmars are identical to the makitas, its only your US imports that are different.
  3. TBH I don't think the "E" series mak dol saws are as robust as the preceding DCS range.
  4. I have the 6400 manual on cd, I'll try and dig it out. I know a guy in the borders..
  5. what are its properties? whats it used for? Just interested.
  6. i have 2 saws to send to you, could you send your address again please. Thanks.
  7. RE-ADVERTISED DUE TO BOUNCED DEPOSIT CHEQUE See Arbtrader for more info. 6800 hours Hi-tec Hi-trol £26500 Call Tom on 07801 538 717
  8. the band needs adjusting, or the linkage is not returning to the correct position. the brake can be released in 2 ways firstly by pushing the lever up and shaping the band open, secondly when starting to pull as the clutch engages the band is disengaged. if the linkage is sitting slightly in the pull position the brake may slip. take the top off and have a look its only 2 bolts. I doubt its worn.
  9. go to half revs, press the middle and bottom button together until the light blinks, (if you get 2 flashing then the revs must be too close to the high setting.) then go to 3/4 revs and hold the top button and bottom button together until the light blinks. The high setting is the revs at which the rollers start and the low setting is where they stop.

anyone else? it works for me, is that on a phone Matty?
  21. There are figures out there for wood chip boilers, its surprising how much it affects the output. Logs will be similar although I would imagine chips will dry out faster in the fire making the effect of water in logs even worse. A 1kg log at 30% moisture contains 300ml of water, thats a can of coke! in every log! Imagine chucking that on the fire each time....
  22. I'd have a pink one....... Who's gonna nick that?

Yep, riddled with Kretzchmaria Reg, it was surprisingly bad actually once we saw the stump, it was in a school so they weren't taking any chances.
