  1. workshop stoves - sawdust stove - greenheart workshop heater UK These are the ones, I'm getting one... as soon as I get a workshop to put it in:001_smile:
  2. I'm also planing a building a bit like this, does anyone know the planning restrictions for this type of structure? I made enquirys to my local council who told me that I'd need planning...£500!! But I have been told that open fronted buildings like deans do not require planning??? Anyone know?
  3. For me the advantage of the bags is the neat storage and the fact that you can deliver to several customers on the same trip. I stilll have a mega sized loose pile which I load with the tractor for the big loads. I would'nt want to bag it all though as you can get more logs on the trailer loose than you can in bags. I can deliver 5 bags worth lose on the trailer (about 3 cube) but only get 3 or 4 bags on in the bag.

    Van drivers.

When I got my points 10 years ago ( I was doing 60 on an A road ) the copper said vans based on cars, eg escort / astra were same as a car, vans built as vans eg transit were 50 mph on an A road. vans have changed a but since then but I can't see them upping the limits.

    Van drivers.

County's right, I had the points on my liscence to proove it.
  6. Not mine, mine are 0.8 cube. normal builders are 0.5.
  7. TBH they are quite lumpy when filled so they don't fit together that well anyway, I stacked them 2 high as thats as high as the tractor would reach.
  8. The straps are fine, the weak point is the vents themselves as thats where they're thinnest.
  9. I have used them this year, I filled them with stuff that was about 6m to a year old and it has now been in the bags for 6 months or so. Firstly they do work: no mould and logs are dry. secondly they are degrading in the sunlight, the ones at the edge split easily, so I'd be wary about using them again and again. unless you keep them under cover.. which may restrict airflow.

The kit is marked up, I tend to do it myself before hand, no point paying for him to do it. Roughly what do you think a fair price is Bob?
  11. Do you think you could make a cone shaped one? about 7' high, its for growing beans and sweet peas up. If not I might be interested in some of the 2 dimensional ones if they were quite tall.
  12. Very nice mate.... you change your kit more than I change my pants.

How much is relatively inexpensive ? BTW I paid £400 last time for 2 complete climbing kits with 2 ropes each and a fair few toys and a fairly comprehensive lowering kit. Is that OTT? Whats the cheapest you've had? (sorry for the slight derail)
  14. Yes It will bend. I really like your idea though, is it for long billets? There is a nylon block available which is impregnated with oil, It would probably resist a fair amount of compression, you could mount it directly under the blade.
  15. Ha Ha, that reminds me of a job we did the other day, Andrew was climbing and took of his sweater and chucked it down.. onto a phone line, took ages to retreive.

I'll be streight with you, I normally do have loler but it is currently lapsed. will be getting it done before crimbo. On a general point though, we dont use crappy kit and I don't mind throwing stuff out if I think its past it. I have seen people climbing on stuff that I wouldn't use as a dog lead, but not for me.
  17. Nice one mate, those jobs are always fun. Did you get that little twig that ziplines down a wire just where its a pain to reach?
  18. I still use one of them!!! although I junked the 13hp engine and put an 18Hp vtwin on it instead:thumbup::thumbup: Its a beast.
  19. So true, I don't know why people look offended when you won't give them your wood for free!!
  20. I heard that one too, oops:thumbup:
  21. I hope the:thumbup1: doesn't mean you're fighting his corner:thumbdown:
  22. Very true this, Befor i bought my winch I looked at a new Tajfun for 950+vat, then one came up on ebay, same winch, 2 years old; so I thought I'd have a go... it went for over a grand!!!
