  1. Yep, Me too - was worth the £100 for the three days but when I did it it seemed aimed more at the bigger installations like hotels and community projects. Learnt a lot though and would recommend it to others. Did mine through Yorwoods but the guy from northwoods was running it.
  2. Did wonder that - For how hard he's working he doesn't seem big enough to be on steroids too - he's 6ft4 and still only something like 14 stone. Did have a mate who started bodybuilding and taking steroids - he went the other way - went really quiet and depressed and in the end died falling from a balcony on holiday. "Accident" apparently.
  3. Are we gonna have an inpromptu new years bash in the Arbtalk Tavern tonight then? Who's gonna provide the music?
  4. Brother in Law is well into those protein shakes - has loads of different tubs and easily has 4 a day - still eats crap though (thinks the shakes will make up for it!) and is proper angry all the time. Never thought of linking the two but it makes a bit of sense. More of a steak bake and pint kind of guy meself
  5. It's a cracking little thing and she came third in her last trial in it but it's a bit of a squeeze getting us two , the dogs and anything else in and it's not the greatest on long runs especially if it's windy.
  6. Had a similar conversation with an old school mate last night - now we've turned 25 it's that downward spiral to 30! I don't feel quite so bad now - we're doing exactly the same
  7. Nice What I'd meant was a V8 diesel to fit into a landy would have been to heavy or expensive - I've been trying to talk SWMBO into an older amazon or a patrol but she won't get rid of the Jimny. Reckon a big 6 cyl diesel takes some beating - have had the old 3.2 patrol and the 4.0 n/a landcruiser. Figured I've too many broken landies kicking about and now they aren't worth FA now so I'd build a good one out of what I've got kicking about (plus a few new bits that she doesn't know about!
  8. But I'm only 26 - can't imagine what it's like for you guys (running off to hide before I get ganged up on!)
  9. We're both too ill to go out tonight. Doesn't even feel like new years eve - can't beleive 2008 has gone already
  10. will LPG do? V8 diesel too heavy (and expensive)
  11. I didn't see the not at first was gonna say "why wont mine!" - the 110 I'm building should though with it's nice 3.9 V8
  12. Meant to be fairly effective though in the right places - Still think ferreting to guns takes some beating for simplicity though just I keep missing
  13. That's a nice looking tractor Tom. How do you get on with the front mounted loader? For heavier lifting we tend to mount them on the rear and use bi - directional ones. That way the weights distributed better and you can lift more without falling over.
  14. Friend of mine had one (04 reg i think but might be a touch out) and he loved it - used to have the big Ifor williams horsebox and two big hunters in and it woul pull top up hill and keep going well past 70. He'd had most 4x4's over the years and reckoned that would take some beating.
  15. Very good machine for steep banks but very expensive.
  16. We used to get out ferreting loads at college (Newton Rigg) - ate like kings compared to the others with their beans on toast Don't get out so much now as there's hardly any rabbits round us at the mo - well not mixy ones anyway. Have any of you guys tried longnetting? I always fancied it but never tried it.
  17. That's some trapping - All I ever managed to catch in fen traps was starlings (oh and the dog once )
  18. He looks a right beast. This is our Hob - Tyson. We did have seven of the stinky little guys at one point but alas they don't last forever. Got a new Jill a couple of weeks ago for a bit of company for him - no pic yet though.
  19. Wishing her a speedy recovery
  20. Heres a few of my old one - no action pics though as I was always on my tod.
  21. Hi Stevie, As Matt said, I used to run a 48 hp Carraro in the woods with a 3.5 tonne winch and little forwarding trailer - used to run it along side the county 1164 with roof mount and between the two machines could cover most sites. Used to take the carraro places I wouldn't dare take an ATV and it was only on fairly narrow wheels. Since stopping working for myself I now work for the UK importer of the Carraro tractors so if you've any questions just let me know
  22. congratulations
  23. Anyone seen those old roadless conversions on landrovers - think they were called something like a Forestrover? Do like that tracked Quad. Carraro are supposed to be offering a track set up like that on one of the Artic tractors but the tracks cost nearly half as much as the tractor
  24. 6ft Norway and a 5ft Nordman for £19.50 for the two - think they'd put the wrong tag on the Nordman but I wasn't going to say owt Tried th FC at Dalby last year and left in disgust - not one half decent looking tree out of all the ones they'd cut
  25. My mum and dad had a skoda felicia estate for a couple of years - looked horrid but was actually quite nice to drive. We had one of the pickups for a while (rebadged vw caddy) and I really liked it - the little 1.3 petrol engine took a bit of winding up but it went ok.
