  1. I´m about halfway to Härnösand. -15 and snowing today is always a interesting one...
  2. When I first saw the pictures I thought you had gone absolute bonkers wit your fracture ideas.... That IS just cheer madness! Wutta he.. sorry What on earth have he or she been up to?!? And most of all why? Prune back to buds and then paint the whole thing in dogpoo disolved in some water:sneaky2:, that will teach them if they return.
  3. Nice and warm down in Stockholm? Started of at -18 this morning and around lunch it got a bit warmer... -14,5 peak temperature! Man up and come work where the real weather is!
  4. That stack was some of the wood that fell during the great storm "Gudrun" of -05, they stored timber everywhere! Even on the bottom of lakes, every harvester in Sweden (but few) were down the to clear up.
  5. Top one is the better one I find.
  6. Ah, yes we talked about the Tree in question. Thought there was something familiar with it. Thats à cracking pic of Pleurotus! Was the signs of decay the same or different from your usual findings of Fomes?
  7. Weird...Nothing I have noticed over here. But from now on this will be noticed or at least looked upon with sharper eyes! Thanks for pointing this out. /T
  8. Thanks. This is what we refer to as "The safe-corner-cut-technique"
  9. Intresting view to gather knowledge. I have recently taken a intrest in old b/w-pics from the town im working in as a way of dating some of the trees. I found a picture of a limetree, that I had to fell due to extensive whiterot, when it was planted around 1905!

  11. Thanks Hama, BatiArb, Bundle2....and everyone else for taking your time to share your knowledge on this subject. I hold the theoretical knowledge high, but also need to "see for myself" to fully understand a subject. I really appreciate the way its presented here, years and years of hands on experience put down in plain text to describe the findings you gathered. Please dont go "scientific" just to prove your point. I believe in plain language with a strong message! Over the years I have met some great people with this power.... I dont mean to namedrop but I can mention two people who both had the ability to put complex things into simple words and inspire people around them. Desmond Tutu, whom I had the pleasure to meet 1987, truly changed my way of thinking and Lisbeth Palme (widow of former Priminister Olof Palme) who accompanied me on a walk, on her beloved Island, and opened my mind to nature. Sorry for derailing.... What I´m trying to say is; This is a very complex subject and I think, to reach out to the arbworld, it needs to be addressed in a "as simple as possibly" language. If you can explain something so that everyone understand, then you fully understand yourself! If the "Arbworld" accepts this knowledge, I´m convinced the "Scientific"-world will have to agree...
  12. Ive had the pleasure to borrow a ms261 from our local dealer for a couple of days. Ive taking turns with the 260 and 261.... The 261 is a very good saw, bit heavier, bit louder (not that you notice) but big difference in emissions...sticky sensation when working the 260 and not with the 261. According to spec its using 20% less fuel and 50% less emmisions. If this is true then the extracost of the 261 would pay for it self due to less petrol usage within 2 years. and a lot better working environment! If I was to buy a saw today for thinning, firewood and medium trees I would go for the ms261! Ive done the worst kind of work for the last couple of days, the new filter is outstanding, no need for cleaning so far...!
  13. Poor Tom...I think you should have swopped so he could have had a go as supervisor too...
  14. So the sneaky bugger grows up with her and then when they are both old then.....WHACK! Hits her in the ribs and leaves her bleading? Good friends.....
  15. I´m with you there...interesting conclusions. This is true when it comes to beech and oaks but with the other ones? Maple, birch and so on, coevolution...? Enlighten us Mr H:sneaky2:
  16. Silly?!? Dont u tar my goof friend Shrek`s good name!
