  1. Oi James! When you next up our way? Mr wolfs....
  2. Yea Tony! 14 hour days certainly bumps up the wages
  3. My boss paid for the chipper hire and their company bought the chip off us so it reduced the initial chipper hire by a vast amount, they sorted out all the artics and didn't mind the green, however as the chip was fresh and green they paid slightly less per tonne, I think it was somewhere in the region of £10 per tonne. In some circumstances with enough chip you wouldn't be paying any amount for the chipper hire.
  4. I didn't vote as I've only 4 years under my belt but i suffer numbness in my third finger right down to the knuckle in summer and winter, I struggle to tie my own shoe laces sometimes or even grip a pencil, not good.
  5. He would have chipped it all in one day but there wasn't another lorry available so he stayed in a B & B and returned in the morning. Worked flat out all day, brilliant machine.
  6. This job was done back in august, it took about 2 weeks to complete. One of the main reasons for felling was due to thousands of starlings nesting in the conifers the previous year, as you can imagine there were feces all over them. We felled the conifers and stacked them in a compound using a tractor and timber trailer with crane. On the final day this monster chipper came and blasted into, I think, 8 artics. Each artic took about 27 tonne so we produced over 200 tonne of chip.
  7. Great truck Have you got anymore pictures of her at work? Quick question, if you had a crane which you were using for brick work, would it be a case of swapping the brick grab for a grapple or would it need re-piping?
  8. What if I'm driving a lorry loaded with woodchip thats intended to be sold to a powerstation, would I need to be up to date with my driver cpc?
  9. Do you know how much a cpc holder costs? And do you need a national O licence to charge and carry other peoples timber?
  10. Yea spoke to him last week, can't imagine he lie about it.
  11. I know the chap who got this job, its a real nice area of woodland to work in.
  12. My new ms200t has my old 020 side cover I call it a 'twenty'
  13. It would be good if colleges touched on things like, dragging, stacking hedge cutting and efficient clearing up as thats what most college leavers do for the first year.
  14. Haha I remember climbing those Limes and felling the pines in Exmoor, good times.
  15. Nice job, beats Hawthorn hedges eh Carl?

  18. I didn't know who to ask about this but I'm sure Arbtalk has all the answers. Basically I just bought a motorbike but having looked over it can't be bothered with it as its a bit of a project. So put it on Gum tree and a guy has emailed me... 'Hi thanks for mailing back,i am an oceanist and i am buying this forDad, i am at sea right now, and I am glad you accepted my offer.I canonly pay through paypal at the moment as i dont have access to my bankaccount online, but i have it attached to my paypal account, and thisis why i insisted on using paypal to pay,all i will need is yourpaypal email address to make the payments, and if you dont have apaypal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at http://www.paypal.co.uk,iwill be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come forthe pick up after payments.' What does everyone think? I haven't ever used paypal, is there away he can get access to my card details by giving him my email? Doesn't seem right.
  19. A company I used to work for ran 6t Iveco dailys and transits, the Ivecos were suprisingly good off road, even towing a gert massive vermeer.
