  1. Yeh its kinda cool feeling them still,Can tell if its a shallow or deep one,I felt one when i was on a pole only about 3-4meters high,could feel its shake and could here the house rattle couple of meters away,Groundie on footpath below the tree never felt it.

I maybe wrong,I dont feel half the aftershocks they happen that much.Apparently is only a new quake (not a aftershock) if its over the orginal magnitude.They happen that often here its not worth reporting about. Haha same with lyttleton as the new fault line is heading that way.and that would be some firework display too. Lots of quakes happending around the world too,7.1 in chile yesterday. 7. something in vanuatu last week.and couple little tremors in the uk.
  3. How big was it? :lol:We've had 4100 shakes since the big one in september,had a 4.9 on boxing day-did more damage again

  16. Hey folks Just had a major earthquake here (if you didnt already know) and there has only been 1 or 2 uprooted trees due to the quake. How come tree roots manage to withstand an earthquake without breaking up?? Thanks

  18. City is like a war zone,A freind of mine felt it in wellington,Will be interesting driving around to do work because lots of roads have all been ripped up.Biggest quake since the 1930's
  19. Yeah think so,lots of roads are cracked and all over th eplace which will take time to fix. And yes the house took a hell of a shake.Which was weird.Only 2 seriously injured people apparently.
