  1. Has anyone got any designs for bollards. I was thinking about sinking in two huge steels either side of the entrance gate and either having a slide through big box section or a hinged one ? The box section could be filled with whatever substance you want then
  2. I've already ordered parts I need to add to my text alert system. I could do with building a better gate or bollard type obstruction
  3. May have to draw stickman images for the illiterate
  4. They just gave up Paul, these machines are complicated for an engineer never mind some scum bucket that can't read or write
  5. They have tried to hot wire my mewp to raise the legs, when that failed they tried undoing the hydraulic pipes on the leg rams to try and lift them manually. These were pro plant thieves as they have tried bypassing all the electrical stops Funny thing is, they must have visited my yard in the past as they never even touched the containers at the side of the mewp. The handles of the containers are not even locked, they must have suffered the consequences in the past. I'm adding to my defences now so I know as soon as someone enters my yard from any direction
  6. That's the one ! He was scarey was the soup dragon
  7. The Clangers used to scare the shite out of me
  8. If it had a bmw badge on they might
  9. Landrover passed its mot today with no faults and no advises The garage I take it to is quite strict too
  10. Haha, yes as if it were yesterday The test card girl
  11. I think first come first served should apply If the tree was there first take the drive up and demolish the neighbours house, if the house and drive were there first then take the tree down
  12. Yes, but they sell both the crap £22 one and the £56 OEM equivalent
  13. It does look that way and that is what the manufacturer will say, but as Gardenkit pointed out, the nut should strip before snapping the ball joint. With castellated nut you have to be able to turn them that extra bit if needed to line up the lock pin holes. I did consider using a nylon lock nut for the new one but the holes lined up nicely with the correct torque
  14. I have a ball joint kit already, but because it was the cheapo arm I didn't want to use it, the splines don't seem as tight as the more expensive one either and kept loosening every few months. When I bought the arm last year, I bought a load of other bits, so never really took any notice of the quality or price.
  15. When I changed it last year it was horrendous, I ended up using a cordless reciprocating saw and cutting it off, this time it was easy because I copper greased the spline when I fitted the new one last year, I worked it off by hand this time
  16. I had a tube of super glue on the dash
  17. The worry I think is if you use the very cheap replacement stuff You normally have three prices as I did with the drop arm I bought. £22 buys a really cheapo non original £56 bought me a non original but OEM spec £98 would buy a landrover original I always try to buy OEM spec parts especially ball joints
  18. Yes strange, I thought the same
  19. Can't really argue with that I'm afraid your absolutely spot on
  20. Haha, she always too busy. The beauty of having a landrover as an arb truck is less than 1 hour and its back on the road, job done.
  21. I have a new rubber boot ready to put on because the original has cracked badly ( which made me think it was cheap crap to start) but the actual joint seemed fine, no play. The thread has snapped completely off, which they will say it has been over tightened. It hasn't because I love my snap on torque wrench so much I virtually sleep with it, I torque everything, if I could torque my own nuts I would (-:
  22. That's the thing Stevie, I checked it last week for its mot this Thursday, it was a new one I put on last year )-:
