  1. Thats Deano's name for it First thing I was asked on site was, "Are your lifting straps Loler tested" "They'll be knackered by the time I get to the end and in the bin," I said
  2. When you said looking to buy a new big toy which one, I was going to suggest a Telehandler.
  3. Pulling out 80 metres of prickly hedging that had got top heavy and weighted over. Gedge plant at the foot of a 4ft retaining wall and in a 4ft wide gap. 40 metres done 40m to go My little Tractor doing a grand job Got some air under the back wheels Steel Crabs, strong enough to pick the back end of a tractor up
  4. Thanks for posting those pics Dave. Apparently the working end of the rope has got to approach the pulley at a slight angle about 5 degrees to stop the binding up bit. Mine has a max rope dia of 16mm so it should do fine. I've been after a Sheet block and jammer / fiddle block for yonks now. Never ending searches
  5. I had that two years ago, bloke went ballistic over dust, which I blew off and he still wasn't satisfied and was very very rude. So I ended up giving him a tenner for a wash and Wax to keep the peace and to get paid of the client. Funny though, I went past a couple of days later and some kind person had squirted old diesel engine oil on his windscreen
  6. Had to Mike Wouldn't have a chance in hell of using her bog
  7. Tut tut, trying to get away with one cut instead of ten
  8. Hey ! ... they told me this machine was idiot proof....they was wrong
  9. Cheers for that Matt and Dave, saved me a lot of time searching
  10. Just have the legs on their max outreach ie on the last peg hole on the knee joint and only lift the tracks off the floor as much as you need. 6 inch is enough. Do that and it's bomb proof
  11. Nice RQG18 there Steve, you set it up or did you have an operator
  12. A six inch section of axle tube will weigh all of a couple of pounds. Just a case of putting a six inch wider Bradley axle on.
  13. I think the top one is a better idea with the two wagon straps as opposed to one strap. I wonder if the single big wide strap on the GRCS is a bought in one or unique to the GRCS
  14. Guinness makes me fart for england and I mean faaaaart
  15. Off the old Tbay Matty, can't believe it went for that, brand new in the box. Going to see if I can get hold of the GRCS backplate and strap as a spare, if not I'll fab my own.
  16. On the front door of an Old lady I worked for a few times. very upper crust she is too. Got her talking on my level after a while
  17. Antal 46R Winch two speed self tailing. £150, get in there!
  18. Who mentioned legislation All I was suggesting is the chippers need to be a few inches wider to make life so much easier. I'd like to see a groundy jump out and shove a chipper up my drive My bandit is a perfect width for reversing, I can slot it anywhere first attempt no juggling about. Put a timberwolf on the back and you'd think I'd never reversed a trailer before in my life and it really doesn't look proffesional when your having several attempts to aim the timberwolf up a steep drive past the clients brand spanking car and the smell of burning clutches drifts up the drive. If I come along, swing out in the road and reverse up the drive in one fluid motion, the customer will be a lot less anxious about you carrying out the job than if I turned up snaking up the drive and eventually getting it up after a few close calls past his valuable garden ornaments. Putting more width on a chipper does not add to it's weight
  19. Problem is John, they are impossible to reverse up a long narrow drive. Doesn't look very professional snaking up a drive and going backwards abd forwards to realign.
  20. No he's on the next hill over. It's the gaseous emmisions from his mouth that are more of a problem
  21. Just a quicky Ed, I don't want to be accused of Hijacking a thread again this week but: Is it possible or easy to modify the Bandit to have a split second reverse when the stress control stops the feed? One of the problems is the feed stops but hold the material against the blades heating them up and slowing the engine building it's revs back up.
  22. Hijacking ???? Eh ? The thread is about the pro's and Cons of a new chipper ?? That's the second time someone has wrongly suggested a thread has been "Hijacked" this week. Threads drift a little here and there, it's a forum where discussions take place, where's all this Hijacking rubbish come from.
