  1. Thats what the problem was, the path split into two, I was too busy commenting on how you'd have thought (with all the stump grinders on site) they'd have ground the little stumps on the entrance paths instead of leaving them stuck up and painting them with flourescent paint to notice the paths split up.
  2. No, it's just reversing, by the time the chipper appears in veiw it's too far gone to correct. Can't see how a 7.5 tonner can be better unless he's not using his mirrors to reverse and looking out the back window.
  3. I live on the top of a hill, so when the ice caps melt, I'll be ok.
  4. I used to have a stick with white markers on that I bungeed to the back of the greenmech I had for reversing that, worked a treat.
  5. I looked at Timberwolf when looking for a new chipper and that's what put me off. The Bandit can be just seen in both mirrors of the landy so is really easy to reverse. My mate brings his TW150 for service and I reverse that up the drive which is an absolute nightmare.
  6. Can also depend a lot on the state of tune of the particular engine Rich, lean, aircooled, water cooled.
  7. Only thing I've got against them is they need to be wider so you can at least reverse them.
  8. I missed a dirty great Landcruiser Amazon Have to get some of Matts flashers on it for next time
  9. Good job I didn't see it otherwise it had of been dragged off into the wood and cammed up
  10. Come on, who did it. When we had finished at the APF and made our way back to the carpark, I was bemused to find my car had gone! SkyHuck got blamed first, I thought, someone who knows me has dragged the car off and parked it somewhere else for a laugh. But upon lack of skid marks I then though it had been nicked. The was another group of people who approached me and said "Has your car gone too?" After half an hour of head scratching we found the other, identical carpark with identical entrance and low and behold, there it was. So sorry to Skyhuck, Mr Ed, PeteMc etc etc for jumping to conclusions, but there again, I wouldn't put it past you !!
  11. I followed a lad wearing Haix round part of the demo circuit, he had them unlaced and was really doing my head in because he was dragging his heels. If he'd have been a lad working for me I'd have given him a right dig. I would be suprised if he got round the 3 kilometre demo circuit without wearing out the heals of his boots the lazy shite. They are not designed for dragging along the floor.
  12. Don't know how I missed you. Were you opposite that brash bailing machine?
  13. Where was your stand Lee, didn't see it, thought I'd covered the whole show ?? I'd have called in if i'd known
  14. See Dave, you've got two mates now Matt, excellent ideas, I think you've got it spot on there mate.
  15. I have found the book "101 love making positions" very good for articulation as you get older
  16. Even the forestry lads were saying the Demo ciruit was crap this year though. Perhaps the fault of fuel prices and not the Arb lot. We in arb don't just use a rope and harness Matt, we do occasionally have a use for big machinery, timber transport, ground clearance, forwarding etc etc. Mr Ed, would after all be twiddling his thumbs without his big boys toys
  17. How does that work then David? You have reduced the amount of trees you have put up for SALE. Sorry mate, had to do it, I'll behave myself now
  18. Matt, there isn't a brick wall between Forestry and Arb. 3Dogs is a forester that is an excellent climber and also does Arb. There are crossovers in both trades. Just because you don't climb doesn't mean other foresters don't. Its a bit of a selfish attitude to dismiss one trade off against the other and not helpfull at all. Don't take this the wrong way mate, but If we all had your attitude attendances would have been very sparce
  19. I'm sure your right Steve, I saw one local Tree Surgeon walking away from a Stall with an armfull of saws, blowers and hedgecutters and it weren't Jonsies. I think Jonsie was 3 quid cheaper than the next competitor on the 200t, but hardly putting the competition out of business.
  20. Now that's what disaponted me about the AA, I'm not into forestry, but I thought for those that are that did attend the AA, there was a severe lack of "their" type of equipment. Shows are shows, a show as large as the APF would be very dull and half the size without arb, but the same should be said for the AA, it would be nice to increase it's size with some mini forwarders etc. Let's not have a us and them, not really the way forward
  21. Try putting it back into the dealers for a retune, a quick 1/4 turn and you may find Bob is in fact, your uncle! Some saws do need a tweek when they are run in, only being slightly out can be a headache.
  22. But the APF is big enough to accomodate both Matt. I was a bit dissapointed there wasn't more climbing demo's. The machinery circuit was a bit repetative, chipper flail, harvester, chipper, flail harvester, chipper flail, ooh, stump grinder. Ragley was far better
  23. Why do you need to take anything?? Try a balanced diet, works wonders
  24. An update link from the local rag, put it on a new thread to get the full story at the head of the thread. http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/3682089.Tributes_to_dad_killed_in_crush_tragedy/ Sounds like either what B101UK as said or he has had the handbrake off and air pressure has built up releasing the brakes. Don't know if that can happen of Mogs same as it can on wagons
