  1. I just put mine on a cool wash with a dash of persil
  2. Just bung it in the washing machine Nick, but don't mix it with your "whites"
  3. I think your boots look Gay Peter aaahhh there you go, feel much better now.
  4. I was thinking that today Matty I am really stressed out, does it show that much?
  5. Nothing worse than doggy do on your ropes. I would never leave dog crap in the garden for a workman to clear up. I think they dog tenant / householder should be taught a lesson and have their noses rubbed in it
  6. Probably whats wrong Steve, I'm tending to put my weight on the knot and tightening it up so it's awkward to shove up
  7. Had a Silver Birch the other day which we cleared of Clematis, it was straining under the extra weight. Probably come back with renewed vigour Matt
  8. I had a job to do today in which I told the client I would be turning up at 8.15am dead and would they make sure the drive was clear so I could reverse straight in when I turned up because it was a busy main road. So the client knew exactly when I was come and fair enough, the drive was clear. Backed the chipper in and opened the gate to the passage leading round the back. There was dog crap all over the place, all down the passage and all over the flagged area at the back where we would be working. I just turned round, put all the kit back on the truck and told them I wouldn't be doing the job. If they wanted me to come back they would have to get the crap cleared up and wait a month until the next clear 3/4 day slot. Not very happy bunnies but I'm sick of people taking the mick
  9. I can free climb footlock on a double rope no problem with no knot, introduce the knot and it all goes pear shaped
  10. I like the slopey up bit at the back, must keep the back end down at speed like a spoiler I'm going to have to sort mine out, it's starting to look a bit "pikey" as Ed pointed out when he came to the house.
  11. Out of interest Ben, your chipbox looks well, what have you made it out of.
  12. I did look into it when I had my tri axle exhibition unit but, like the waste transfer license, couldn't make head nor tails of it.
  13. I had 300 yards of 20ft high leylandii to do both sides with an HT75 fully extended, done out of a small mewp believe me, I was laughing at the end of it.
  14. Be careful, those telephone wires are about 50 volts. At least you were safe with that safety net underneath you.
  15. Pro log suppliers are charging £180 for a level tranny load, supposedley seasoned.
  16. I've just done a job today that I've under quoted. Quoted two days for me, groundy and subbed in another climber and groundy. Price not a problem, just forgot to add on the subbies fees. Oooops. End of the day, tough titties, my cock up, can be assured I wont do it again, can't afford to.
  17. I know of one person, but he only had one saw returned and by that time he had all new shiney kit curtosy of his insurance
  18. If a double glazing company flyer or door knocker came to my door I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. If they are not busy through normal business recommendations or adverts then it sets alarm bells ringing that they have to tout for work. Best thing to do is do your own survey, knock on 50 doors and ask a few questions ie What are your thoughts on companies who door knock? What are your thoughts on companies who flypost? Do your own market research.
  19. ...and just adds to the landfill problem in Pakistan
  20. I was looking at Elm on the firewood info list, how can wood (Elm) have a moisture content of 140%? Surely 100% moisture content means you are looking at a puddle
  21. I could see it working better i you had before and after photo's of your actual work
  22. Marking them doesn't stop them dissappearing, it just means the theives don't get as much when they sell them on.
  23. You'd be better getting your motor sign written and leaving it parked outside the exit of your local B&Q or Sainsbugs every sat. I get loads of calls from nurses and doctors because our lass is a nurse and parks the car in the hospital carpark. I've had a few saying they've got the number off the car from the super market. Well worth sign writing.
  24. Ed, Got any links or pictures of the CSF with 3 point fitted and the specs.
