  1. Have you thought about getting the Rangie lpg converted?

Okay, so the mpg won't improve, but the cost of the fuel would go down by about 40%.

Alternatively, what about something like this - better mpg, still 4x4, not too dinky:

2001 JEEP CHEROKEE 2.5 TD 60th Anniversary 5dr Sw Special Edition

It is gas converted but as it I'm probably getting about 22-28mpg equivalent, I'm still looking at getting double that plus cheaper insurance hopefully, and also a car that isn't always needing something doing to it!!

Cheers for the recommendations there's a fair list to go through there haha

  2. Right I need to get a car that does more than 12mpg. So my favourite at the moment is an astravan as there sposed to be able to manage 50+mpg. But I'd like opinions on others before I get one. Basic requirements are good mpg and some room in the back! Doesn't really have to be a van but could do with some carrying capacity. Cheers mike. Oh budget not massive about 2-2.5k depending what I get for the rangie!!

  3. i have a similar problem with landy lamps, all the wiring for the lighting circuits has been replaced and now the remaining faults lie within the bulbholders, you push a new bulb in and it pops back out within seconds, i just bought a bunch of heavy duty bulb holders with grub screw type connectors, i'll build them into the existing lamps and no more problems:thumbup:, i did consider led lights but had already bought a heavy duty flasher unit as it's rare the trailer is not attached, now the landy is wearing back lamps robbed from a trailerboard and i just need to rebuild the fronts.

I've had this with replacement units for the landy, had about 3 or 4 on one light, the plastic either isn't tough enough or it's not moulded to the right dimensions, the pins on the bulb just wore past the grooves of that make sense, then the bulb popped out. Finally solved it with a genuine unit, but I tried both wipac and britpart ones.

  4. what about a ground anchor knocked in, then drive over it, with it in the middle then fasten it to tow points on the bumper? thought of doing this myslef but never needed too yet.

i take it your moving logs around? rather than pulling trees over. ive yet to have a problem pulling trees over and mines only a 90 so less weight.

  5. Cheers for the replies, I'd rather not bother if I had to get tm in on it.

It would be a sun morning job. I'll look up the permits as mentioned above.

It's only the chipping that is going to be a problem, I can sort the tree out without needing to park there. So for a couple of hours at most I'll be parked there, but knowing my luck....
