Interesting, the stems were very hairy, furry but only about a foot from the leaves. Cheers guys

Cheers for the replies. Done the mot check thing and it failed it's first mot for having front nearside and rear offside springs cracked. Interesting little check that.

I'm guessing not, but I'd like to check the mileage is correct on a van I'm looking at buying it's a 57 plate and it's done 24,000. Any advice much appreciated

Nice one cheers, I did a search but the tspatalk search tool isn't the best.

Just trying to work out at what point my trailer is overloaded, ok so it'll be a very rough guess depending on water etc. But if anyone has a m3 weight measurement that'd be great. Cheers
-
Pretty sure you can, I got quoted 150 ish for a piston and cylinder for a combi engine.

Anyone know the area? He looks familiar but then all the gypos do!

Thinking of selling my trailer it's an old ifor one before they started galving them. 3ton gross. Bed size is 10'4" long by 6'6 wide. With an approx 2' beavertail. Homemade sides not the best but work ok. 4 new tyres and an unused spare. Brakes don't work great, and it could do with general tidying up but other than that no probs.
Not sure on price to be honest pm or 07764581557 if interested cheers mike

Cheers for replies.
hadn't thought of brightwells.
Perhaps I need to wait a little longer, but eBay and van trader both seem to be nearly all traders selling them. I'd rather buy off a private sale, though I suppose they'll be limited at the minute for the age of van I'm after.

That job in Wales really put you off didnt it pal? I still have nightmares about that... If you want to learn more and get more experience then find a good, established firm ( you might have to lower your day rate ) and do a day or 2 for them when you can and keep on contracting to pay the bills while you learn and do some networking...
I realise that all of the above is easier said than done. The 2 and a half years i did at treeclear was where i did most of my learning not at college. Just a thought...
That Wales job wasn't too bad, just I don't like staying away!

You could set up your own firm like everyone else if you think you are being hard done by.
Besides if there's something the arb industry needs its more small companies.
I'm already trying that got a little chipper etc but there's so much competition here it's a struggle.

What vehicle are you looking at? Guessing an ldv or transit?

Doing that mileage a month first thing I'd do was look where the nearest station was. If it's not on or very near the route I'd rule it out.
I well fitted lpg conversion shouldn't be noticeable down on power.

Saying that though it's a pain not being able to go to any garage to fill up.

I'm not well up on modern cars, but my v8 90 works out about the same as a diesel one cost wise. But I get the joy of a v8

But your not a subbie! That word is (or should be ) banned!
True but it's easier to describe as that than anything else!
It actually gets better as we are payed through an umbrella company and so get the privilege of paying them £20 a week to pay us! I sort my own tax etc.
I can't complain too much as I'm in full tome work and that's better than I was last year, I'm just not doing the work I want to be doing and as such I'm learning nothing!

Well hopefully the Rangey might go this weekend, so any tips for where to look for an astravan or similar? Keep trying ebay, vantrader and bca. Am I missing somewhere? Cheers mike
-
I'm looking at similar at the moment, though I'm drawn to an astravan, o did have a days drive in a combo couple of years old, and did think it was noisy on the m/way. And that's coming from someone who drives a v8 90 daily! But maybe all small vans are like that?
-
, the truth is your not a subbie, your employed on a very dodgy basis.
Yep an to make it worse I'm working for an agency! The problem being if anything goes wrong, I'm gonna end up in a right lob, as I'm not making enough "contacts" elsewhere.
-
I'm not after sympathy, unless it leads to some "normal" work!
