  1. Been to do a morning work today for another company, gets there, waiting about half an hour for the to turn up so while I'm there the home owner comes out and long story short the works been put off till Monday. Rings the guy up im working for and no and no answer so rings his "business partner" who says yep its been postponed to mon. So I've wasted two hours of my morning plus £60 on a bar and chain for the job. Seriously miffed off!

  2. Although if it goes straight why not spike up a few feet and gob it out there?

This is near enough what I did, except not by using spikes. My point of view was to get a gob in as straight a part I could. The top of the tree was about a foot away from the base of the tree if that makes sense, due to the curve. So if it's felled at the bottom the weight of the tree is surely using the curve as a lever, putting more stress on the hinge, and so morelikely to snap out. This is what we were disagreeing about, rather than the cut itself. Wether it should have been felled from the base or further up.

  3. Sorry should of said the trees been felled not in the direction of the lean,

Basically One went wrong today nothing serious but even though not ideal! It

Needed felling 90 degree to the lean, so as your looking at the tree with it leaning left it's been felled towards you if that makes sense. So I've put the gob in as far up as I can so I'm not felling it on the bend, and left a triangular hinge bigger on the opposite side to the lean, but it's still snapped off. The tree was a syc. Another guys said it should of felled at the bottom, although a wider hinge would be achieved you'd have leverage of the tree through the bend if that makes sense?

  4. Could you measure the diameter of the round part when you get a minute.

I've never had a problem with wet conny so just wondering if the chute is to small diameter on the round versions.

I'll probably have a go at making one but it'll probably end up similar in price when I've done! And probably double the weight of the machine too!

  5. Don't know to be honest o bought it second hand and it wasn't till I put the pole saw and extension on I got from you recently I realised something was wrong. The bore feels ok to the touch except for a bit of a "bur" hence thinking of a piston and a hone. Out of interest how much are your kits?

  6. nfu have gone mad with their quotes this year, i know alot who havent renewed this year with them, try swintons or moneysupermarket.com both weve had good deals with

Yeah according to the guy I spoke to, all insurances rose in November, my renewal is due in may and he said be prepared for it to go up. I'm currently paying 400 for the 90 and 670 for the range rover. Though there not business use. When I asked how much it'd be to change the use of the 90 to business use he said an extra £6 for the rest of the policy! Crazy

  7. I've never ran a car on additives. There seems to be as ever varying opinions, but the ally heads are fitted with iron seats so may be ok without either. I've done about 60k in my 3.5 nearly all on gas ( which has even less lubricating properties) and I've never had problems except for the rings. So unless your doing big mileage etc I wouldn't bother
