  1. YOU ARE BEING WATCHED WHILE YOU WORK, DON'T FORGET. Today we've just had our 3rd theft working in North London, today it was Queensbridge Road in Hackney E8. Last time it was Winnington Road in Hampstead N2, the first time it was Tufnell Park Road in Islington N7. ON EACH OCCASION A PARKED CAR WITH 2 THIEVES HAVE EXAMINED THE MOVEMENTS OF OUR GROUNDSMEN BEFORE STRIKING. Once they expect they have about 60 SECONDS clear they go in. We had a Timberwolf 150 nicked in broad daylight in the rush hour in the Islington hit, they stuck it on a Volvo, the police were a joke, quite how you can have no CCTV footage from any road is beyond me. Today we had an MS660 taken from the cab, window smashed, alarm is unbelievably loud, these travellers are prepared to take any risk necessary, they are ready to fight because they will have a tool and you won't. JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE BEING WATCHED WHILE YOU ARE WORKING

  4. This position is closed, sorry again to the 5 or so people who have emailed me. Thanks, Tom
  5. Rob, the North is cruel for pay. Is it the same as down here though where there a 500 companies within range of any job who would love to be doing it instead of you? I honestly have no idea how we all stay in business haha!
  6. It is before tax, yes. If it was that much after tax then you'd be well out of trainee territory!
  7. Rob, yeh, you're right, what was I thinking, call it £335. Down here in the big smoke it's hard to live on less.
  8. Hello everyone, We're looking for a new junior with recent tickets, we're a good company in which to get quick experience and every employee here loves their job. Fun is permissible, in small quantities, and we're a conscientious team that gets through a lot of work. We are slightly imbalanced towards ginger hair-types, although this will not affect your chances of employment. This is ideal for someone with recent cs30,31,38,39 tickets who wants to be doing proper climbing stuff quite quickly. The pay is £355 a week with 10 to 20 hrs overtime a month at time and a half, so £200 extra if you're lucky. I anticipate this role will be temporary until late autumn, but if workload permits then we'll keep you on indefinitely, give you a payrise etc. As long as you haven't cut anything off, then you'll be in the Bahamas with the insurance pay-off wishing you could pick up a beer with your preferred hand. Please email me if you're interested - [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you, Tom
  9. Thanks for the CV's people, please keep them coming, this is not to say that I am not still considering those that I already have, I will also need to see who is free at the time in some cases. Who was Adrian that phoned me on Friday? Please could you send something over also? Best regards, Tom
  10. Forgot to say, CS30/31/38 are all required for this role, thanks, Tom.
  11. Hello anyone, I need a new part timer to make up a part time team, to be paid on a day rate which we will negotiate. We're a small company based in Wimbledon consisting of 3 and half humans and one owl. I want someone else to phone up and book in for a few days at a time depending on availability etc. Please don't apply if you are pathologically grumpy, or if you don't like owls or rock-climbers. It could be quite permanent depending on our workload, but I cannot promise anything because that's life. We operate automatic time and half and usually do 10 to 25 hours a month. Please send CV's or a quick summary of your details to [email protected] Website Tree management services in London and across the UK - Microbee Kind regards, Tom
  12. This position is now filled. I opted for a trainee in in the end, many thanks to all those who applied - I will email you individually from the office tomorrow. Thanks, Tom.
  13. P.S. I can't try and find my new person anywhere else because someone good always shows up from this forum in the end!!!
  14. Ok, had a few responses thanks, but not many replies to my replies! I must be asking too many questions? I am trying to match some of the bigger London companies for pay, but it certainly doesn't seem to tempt many people, just goes to show that there's very few tree workers without a job, which I suppose is good Please do send me a quick email if you have any questions etc Many thanks, Tom.
  15. Brad, sometimes! Email me over your details and I will discuss it with you. Cheers, Tom.
  16. Hello everyone, it's time for the next addition to our company trees-london.com, things have gone pretty well over the last 3 years so I'm looking for someone RELIABLE and CONSCIENTIOUS. If you are obsessed with whittling then please don't apply because the trucks are full of shavings already because of James The way I work is to pretty much give you everything you want and let you get on with it, there is a quarterly company bonus scheme that has varied over the last few years from £pffft to £500 after tax. We usually do 5 to 20 hours overtime a month at time and a half. I need someone straightforward and motivated who just gets on with their work, as with any tree company the overall success is down to people pulling their weight. We like to keep things relaxed, but there's a lot to do! You must have aerial rescue and basic felling because I can't use you otherwise. You will be working in a team of 2 or 3 doing all the usual stuff in pretty much any area we can get to within an hour. Please send me a CV or a quick email to [email protected] if you want to pop in for an interview. Thanks, Tom. Tree Team Manager.
  17. Hi, just to clarify that the chipper was padlocked. It was hitched onto the truck. My team estimate the chipper was alone for 20 seconds. We've bought a motorbike lock now. If anything it goes to show that the thieves were watching carefully and prepared to take a huge risk. We haven't heard from the police, all the CCTV is run by the councils now so you are literally at the mercy of some tea-drinking monkey who may or may not have been awake at the time. Tom.
  18. Just had one of our Timberwolves put on a Silver Volvo Estate by two apparently blonde men whilst the team were ferrying logs! They drove off like nutters and apparently nearly knocked off a cyclist. THIS HAPPENED HALF AN HOUR AGO. They will be on so many CCTV cameras and pass so many police that they might get caught soon, surely rush hour in Islington isn't a good time to nick a chipper??? It's obviously bright Orange and is from 2008 so in fairly good condition. FY59 VDT number plate on it until it's removed by the thieves. Any sightings or info greatly appreciated! Thanks, Tom. 0208 540 9968 Microbee Tree management Ltd
  19. Morning All, I got both my other staff from Arb Talk so I am reluctant to use other means, but I'm now not getting any CV's through, please come out of the woodwork, I will consider any experience level. We have several months of work to get through and I am looking for two committed and self-motivated staff who want to do some good Arboriculture. 1) 17-20k starting salary with increase after 6 months 2) 5 to 35 hours overtime a month at time and a half 3) Quarterly company group bonus scheme (profit based) 4) Growing Wimbledon based tree services company 5) Tree management services in London and across the UK - Microbee Please get in touch.... [email protected] Many thanks, Tom.
  20. plippy, well, climber and a groundie within the next few weeks would be perfect.
  21. Ok, got a few CV's, thanks for them. Can some people please apply who can start immediately! I will just re-cap on a few things.... 1 I will buy you whatever you need kit wise, within reason. 2 We generally do between 5 hours and 35 hours a month at time and a half. Sundays are double time. 3 We have a company profit bonus scheme. 4 I genuinely want to create an environment where the work is there in abundance (it is) and you are free to improve, self-motivate and practise good arboriculture. 5 You WILL get a payrise within 6 months if things are working out. Thanks folks:biggrin: Tom.
  22. Ok, had a couple of CV's through, please keep them coming. If you have any questions about us, or about the job then please ask. Thanks, Tom.
  23. Hello everyone, I have good news. We are a Wimbledon based company with Housing Association customers, managing agents and a growing domestic customer base. Through ArbTalk I have hired Tim and James, they both seem quite happy, they laugh, they climb trees, they eat moss, those sort of things. I have recently had to turn off the advertising because we were getting overwhelmed so it is time for a 2nd team. Tim and James are both climbers so I need a dedicated groundie and a new trainee climber, although I will definitely consider an experienced climber for one of the positions. Basically I need 2 more staff and could do with anyone with a good work ethic and a good attitude. You must have aerial rescue I'm afraid. We have a group company bonus scheme which is based on profit from the 4 Microbee companies, in the past it has been up to £1000 in a quarter, and these days will hopefully be back when we kick this recession. We work on a starting salary basis for about 3 months and then we will increase your pay once you have proved yourself. Please send CV's to [email protected] I look forward to hearing from you, Tom Evans Tree Team Manager.
