  1. Jesse, I'm quite sure you can't get "£12 an hour wiping bums", that's more like £8 per hour and we all know that. £11.20p is based on £24,000 + Overtime, which actually over our year will be about £28,000 based on our normal overtime. Speak to most climbers working at the level I want (non-managerial) at the larger london companies and you won't find too many earning more than £28,000 a year. And a lot earning £21,000 a year!! Thanks, Tom.
  2. Ok, ok, please calm down, I just thought it made more sense to offer an hourly rate, but clearly a day rate makes far more sense.
  3. Not a single response! Just goes to show there are never people out of work in this industry unless they choose to be!
  4. Forgot to say, please email me with CV's or an expression of interest and a short personal summary. Obviously you will only be taken on with proof of qualifications anyway. Best regards, Tom
  5. Hello everyone, I urgently need a climber to cover a holiday period of one of my staff. The right man will be very competent at crown reductions and know all about furnishing growth and drop-crotching, no wild pollarders please! Dismantling also required up to 28" DBH. The pay is £11.20 p/h. Our overtime rate is time and half so £16.80 p/h. We generally do 10 to 20 hours a month. Must have own PPE. I need an immediate starter, or asap, who also has a clean driving license. The work might continue beyond 2 or 3 weeks but we'll see how busy we are. Please get in touch, particularly if you just need to fill a gap in employment or are just bored and good at reductions! The work is not street work. Many thanks, Tom [email protected]
  6. I still need a few people to give trial days to, this is to fulfil our policy of giving at least 3 people a trial for EACH position. Please get in touch for a trial day next week on Tuesday or Friday. Many thanks! Tom
  7. Hi, I still need to fill one of these positions, please do still apply
  8. Thanks, still only had about 4 or 5 through so please keep them coming
  9. Yes, please keep CV's coming, it is amazing how little attention an advert gets once it has slipped down the list on the thread display! Cheers, Tom
  10. Matt, within the next couple of weeks! We're a bit overwhelmed with work at the moment and our real rush hasn't really started yet.
  11. Hello everyone, I am trying to find two part time staff to work 3 days a week on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. This would suit a trainee level or experienced person who doesn't want to work full time. We are normally overwhelmed with work all summer and are seriously full now, so the 3 days a week is a minimum and a full week is quite likely. The positions will be at least 6 months and quite possibly permanent. We're a nice company to work for, literlally nobody here has ever taken someone's life or stolen a car and gone ram-raiding. Sometimes we just spend the day saving the lives of woodlice that have found themselves in a spot of peril. One of us is even a vegetarian and will only eat animals if they have died by misadventure. I will pay you £83 a day, which is based on a self-employed basis, so own PPE and climbing equipment. It's basically £22,000 a year if you were foolish enough to work without any days off. We usually do 5 to 20 hours of overtime at time and a half. So realistically your average daily pay will work out to about £95 and therefore a salary band of £24k. CS38 alone is an absolute minimum requirement, please do not apply if you cannot rescue someone from a tree. Please DO get in touch if the specifics of these positions don't quite meet your requirements, I want good staff and can be flexible. I look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks, Tom [email protected]
  12. Sean, Thanks for the message, I have a hopeful coming in on Monday, so will be seeing how that goes. Cheers, Tom
  13. Hello, I could do with some more applicants please, had a suitable chap coming in for a trial day but he found other employment. I look forward to hearing from anyone interested. Thanks, Tom
  14. Hello everyone, I have successfully hired my last 4 people off here, so here I am again. I need a new trainee with their own PPE to work on a day rate of £75pd, either part time or full time, this is because The Owl is leaving us and going to Sweden which is a shame, apparently there's a good woman there I need CV's please. I am half inclined to take on someone with plenty of climbing experience for £21,000 (plus 28 days holiday), but it is very important that you aren't pathalogically grumpy because I will notice. Anyway, please apply too. We tend to do 5 to 20 hours overtime a month at TIME AND A HALF, pretty great isn't it! We also have small bonuses every quarter that pay between £0 and £300 generally. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Tom CVs to [email protected] Microbee offer professional and affordable tree management surgery and services in London and across the UK
  15. The reason none of the gear ever appears on ebay or whatever is that (if you haven't noticed) our biggest competition is companies based on traveller sites, the tree industry is probably 10% travellers and we provide their equipment in the entirety!

  17. They found our chipper on a traveller site near Watford after getting a search warrant. It had been mounted onto a different chassis and had no stickers on anymore. There was a enough Stihl power tools there to "open up a shop" as the policeman said...

  20. We have ALKO hitch locks manufactured by the company that makes the tow hitch, we got a replacement chipper for the stolen one. Haven't been in touch with the insurance company about the chainsaw, I am pretty sure it will be covered though, seem to remember something about "locked in the cab".

  23. Risking not having insurance should be avoided as well, you could be completely taken out. Gristwood had a truck and chipper taken in it's entirety a few weeks ago, keys were left in it! Both got the sack, even the guy in the tree! Just another opportunist waiting for 20 seconds. The poshest areas in London are some of the riskiest because there will be 30 white vans within 200 yards doing one job or another so they just blend in - it was a white van that did the job in Hampstead.
