Hi folks, this was Ben from my team. He's made a complete recovery except for the hearing in his ear. It was actually the mounting point for the webbing on the back of a petzl vertex vent that dug into his skull - where the plastic clip housing is. We went through the whole process with the HSE and were fully investigated, we were not prosecuted and it was found to be climber error because ben climbed above his high point and unfortunately his high point came down with him after a 1m long split. Flippin Goat Willows! Ben was in full and appropriate PPE with a high point bigger than his forearm. Suffice to say that Ben should never have climbed above his high point, and on the rare occasion that this happens then you better make sure you're tied in somewhere that is going to save your life! It's amazing how many people have come forward and told us that they've had a high point failure in their career. I've had one myself and been tied in somewhere stronger lower down. Please feel free to ask me any questions about what happened. All the best, Tom

Hi, Work is spiralling, please get in touch if you want to join our company, will suit someone safe that is good at looking upwards and avoiding things coming downwards. More than happy for a 2nd climber type of person. Anyone really with a good work ethic that isn't monumentally grumpy. Grumpyness is acceptable as long as it is in a funny way. Pay to be discussed depending on experience, not mentioning specific dosh anymore but it's plenty, especially after overtime at time and a half. Please send CV's or a covering email over to [email protected] Best regards, Tom

Hi, Work is spiralling, please get in touch if you want to join our company, will suit someone safe that hasn't broken anything valuable for ages. Pay to be discussed depending on experience, not mentioning specific dosh anymore but it's plenty, especially after overtime at time and a half. Please send CV's over to [email protected] Equal opportunities policy dictates that you can be female or gay as long as you are still good at climbing trees. Best regards, Tom

Dear PMH, I wish I didn't have to advertise anything to do with dough, but I get so few responses even when I do!
-
This is a re-advertised post for a climber to cover holiday, required urgently for our small and thriving tree surgery team. It seems my other advert didn't make the dough very clear and I'm not allowed to edit it. Must have own PPE and climbing kit. Please get in touch if you have a several years doing good reductions and are comfortable dismantling up to 28". Tree officers will be looking at your furnishing growths and things. We're based in Wimbledon and work all over London. Please send CVs or a quick personal summary to me. I need the cover for 3 weeks, but if we're busy I might well need you to hang around. Best regards, Tom [email protected]

£150 is at the top end, but OK. I clearly need to re-advertise this because it doesn't demonstrate how the money works out, a rate is a rate is a rate though.

£150 is at the top end, but OK. I clearly need to re-advertise this. Do you know Justin Hughes?

And I'll just add that there's 252 working days a year, so that works out like this on our 9 hour days :- 252 * 9 * £11.20 = £25,401 + £4k overtime (roughly) = £29,401 NOT pony money.
