  1. Hi I'm a supplier to this industry, so can't help with the price. But what you need to bear in mind is the equipment they will need. not including fuel, insurance, waste licence, etc... 1 x Truck £5k + 1 x Chipper £10k + chainsaws and blowers £1.5k Climbing equipment £1k Total 17.5k This is all minimum. You average electrician or gas fitter 1 x small van £3k £1k of tools Total 4k This is not a dig at you just the way I see it as it winds me up how much I'm charged to have my boiler looked at.
  2. Hi Don't take this as gospel, but I've heard that they have retired and putting their feet up. Good luck to them.
  3. He'll have eaten it on the way up.
  4. Firstly I need to point out that the heading of this thread “Stein adjustable cambium saver kit” is wrong and mis-leading. STEIN has nothing to do with the assembly of this kit other than the fact some of the components used in the kit are from STEIN. The description on our website reads as below with no mention of STEIN: Adjustable cambium saver kit Self assembly 5 meter adjustable cambium saver, kit enables you to construct your own adjustable anchor point for use in tree climbing. It is now recommended to back up your steel core lanyard by install a choke able anchor for your climbing line when working on a stem. With minimal effort this kit enables you to construct your own adjustable anchor from recognised PPE equipment saving you money on pre assembled products. I have posted a picture of a possible assembly but this must not be taken as instructional. This kit has been based on the Multisaver and can be adapted to suit your climbing needs. If it was to be sold as an assembly it would need it's own CE mark, this would put some serious extra ££'s on the item.
  5. Hi All I've got a customer who's got a Spiderjack and using Posion Ivy. It worked fine for about 2 months and is now slipping any ideas. I've copied the user in on this thread so he can read all your useful info. Cheers.
  6. Cheers for the PM, I'll pass it on to the police.
  7. Can I have the exclusive on the Ashtray, as long as it under £12.50 no one will moan if it falls off and ash goes on the floor.
  8. They have told him he needs to use one of these, one for each belly and chin.
  9. OK So I finally have them on our website, in all colours and sizes. If you by online they will be with you the following day. They are all on this page being modelled by one of our very own. Trousers, jackets & T shirts | F R Jones and Son
  10. We are starting to use them. They will be massive within 2 years.
  11. Thanks for the heads up, PM me if any one sees this van please.
  12. Mike I never new about your bags, or if I did I can't remember (getting old). Next time your over I will sort something out for you.
  13. Thank you all for you kind comments. Before this turns into a Stein bashing thread, it was stein that replaced the mini reach for you and it is the first one I've had back with a problem. I hope the new one gives you no grief. With the stein lanyard bag can you send us a picture of it, as Stein will replace it for you if it's faulty. Out of all the manufactures Stein are one of the best to deal with on after sales and quick, normally a picture emailed to us and it's sorted within 24 hours. We have returns from all makes, sometimes down to a fault on an item, or damaged in transit. We need to be informed and we can get it sorted for you, in most cases within 24 hours. We did have a 25 litre chain oil go bang in a fedex van last week, the guy threw something on top of it, bet that made a mess.
  14. It's Oregon Chain oil. The good guys at Oregon will let you put any kind of logo or artwork on if you buy by the pallet. We will be putting something on our in the near future. Or If you want a pallet at a time we can put on your artwork.
  15. That would have been cutting edge Chris. CEUK. He does the best Terry Tibbs you will ever here.
  16. It was there until the end, in the far left corner. Glad you did the Help For Heros climb.
  17. A massive thank you needs to go to: Andy Green, for the Idea and putting it all together and running it. Nigel and Nick from Fletcher Stewart, Andy Bellhouse, Sally Jones, and all the rest that helped run it. Without you lot this could not happen, hope you can all help next year.
  18. Well we smashed the climbing event this year and will continue to do it again next year. For those that don't know what it was: The Three Peaks Arb Ascent Sponsored by Trust Insurance and Stein, in aid of Help for Heroes, the aim of the challenge is to climb the combined height of the Three Peaks (Scafell Pike 3162ft, Snowdon 3560ft and Ben Nevis 4409ft) using multiple fixed-line ascents to a point set at 50ft within the tree canopy. This makes a total of 11,131ft over 223 ascents, which we will attempt to have completed within the 2 days of the Arb and Forestry Event. This is a team effort to reach a set goal, not a competition, so we will not be timing any of the climbs. There will, however, be special prizes awarded for: * Most ascents * Fanciest dressed ascent * Most ‘creative’ ascent (but please remember this is a family show!) * Oldest climber * Youngest climber The Results are: Total required to meet the target, 222 climbs. We achieved 168 on Friday, 76 on Sat Total 244, which is not only equivalent to the 3 peaks,(11,131ft) but with the Shard (1015Ft) on top! Oldest climber Jim Chatton aged lots Youngest climber Shannon Marney aged 7 Most climbs Arron Mc Gimpsey Joyce from Kingswood Tree Services 16 climbs (in one day) Fanciest Dress Miss Colin Bedwell Most creative climb Richard Townsley (inverted decent) Most climbs over the event where from Richard Olley (Owner of Kingswood Training & Event Host) he managed 21 climbs. This is the equivalent to the Eiffel Tower. I remember a while back someone saw a photo of Richard on here and called him a dinosaur. Top marks to all. So far we have managed to raise about a £1000 and from what we have been told I think there is about another £500.00 to go in. You can still donate here. The Three Peaks Arb Ascent Challenge
  19. I might also look at selling the bracket for the target, I think most people will be able to source the rest of the parts.
  20. If it's something people want I'll start stocking them.

  22. Hi All I'll start this thread with a few of the muddy pictures, please feel free to add your photos and comment on the show.
  23. Morning All Despite the weather we had a good day yesterday. Unfortunately we are going to start shutting the show down at 1 o'clock today due to the state of the ground. It's going to take till about midnight to get everyone of site as everyone and every chipper will need to be towed out using a tracked machine. Sorry to disappoint, but if you was here you would understand. I'll catch up on this thread tomorrow as I'm about to go and get muddy.
  24. Every new Stihl machine needs to be registered with Stihl, so I think they must go out the country.
  25. Once again thanks everyone. And thanks to the other dealers on here and to Honey Brothers and Winchester Garden Machinery who have offered to help in any way they can. I know I'm in competition with you guys but it's still nice to know theirs the offer of help and sympathy when the crap hits the fan.
