  3. I've been using this arrangement for at least 10 years now. It's most useful when you have steps, slopes, architect's, and jo public who find it impossible to imagine that those tiny little trees will grow into... It's a 16HP Truckloader and a Honda power wheelbarrow.
  4. You could try giving them some help! I've used Aeon spring assister's with great affect in the past. 01814818300 snag is these days there is a minimum buy. If you more help ring me 07831235376.

  10. Perhaps I should elaborate! I'm referring to the way in which they a splitting apart through weak unions. It seems as if the smaller, younger, trees are more prone. Is it something to do with their DNA or provenance?
  11. Been selling and using it for 25 years. Now one dead yet! or rather no one's thought to pin the blame on me yet!!
  12. Recently I have been noticing how the newer London planes appear to be falling apart. How come? When I say newer I'm suggesting up to approx 30-40 years old. The more mature trees planted 60-70 years ago do not appear to have taken such a beating Has anyone got any thoughts? Layman's language please no degrees round hear!!!
  13. To date I've been visited 19 Times! I feel for all who have suffered. Perhaps someone can come up with something constructive we can all do to protect each other. There are any number of reporting sites, police tracking, etc. Perhaps we could get our arboricultural bodies to help (hopefully) without lining someone's pocket! Any suggestions please?
  14. Thank you all for your help. Maybe a portable X-ray?!
  15. Roll Up, Roll up, with your piggy banks! Does anyone have any tips on these rather expensve creatures. No seriously, I'm looking at the non invasive technology with the usefull benifit of seeing bats but I would like to know more about the in's and out's. I open any advice I can get. thanks in advance
  16. I have had a 14/70 for 2 years, it has been very reliable simple and easy to use. I've been on a maintenace couse to look after it which has proved usefull. giving me a much better understanding of its full potential. I would recomend it. The "variable track width" sold the machine to me because of it's increased stability,up and down curbs slightly less harrowing!!!
  17. Try Boulter tippers 01189812542 they built mine, and they build for someone just round you mentioned just round the corner! £1900+ Very pleased
  18. I'm a show junky!! However did anyone see the new RIPPA disc! Put it on your disc cutter and cut Tree roots, Tyres, Sleepers etc. Looks good and easyer than digging!
  19. Acording to the specs at global I think a landy at 3500 will pull the Bandit 1590 as it weighs in at 3136 Kilo's.
  20. Yes I had one ring me 07831235376
  21. I hold an 'O' licence, I think that if you thinking of uping to 7.5 Ton check that you are getting the latest engine you can afford! as old trucks will be dumped on the unsuspecting. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/lez/default.aspx Have a look here this will worry us all! re: Tacho's if you are 3.5T gross and you tow for hire or reward you need a tacho. However you do not need to use your Tacho if you are working within 30mile from you base (as the Crow fly's) Use a piece of string on you wall map! But go adrift and get caught you could loose everything Truck Chipper the lot. You do not need to use a Tacho for Private use, so tell some one a story that when plod or vosa rings they will back up. And Finally, when asked if you know how heavy you are, tell them you are on the way to the weigh bridge. Just know where they are.
  22. Re the diesel/ petrol discussion. I agree, red diesel is cheaper but a greater polluter. I've heard rumers that on the Olympic sites in London that all diesel plant is required to be fitted with partical filters. Thin edge of the wedge? Especialy with the introduction of the new LEZ London Emission Zone. So pehaps having a petrol chipper on your fleet is not such a bad thing after all. Better to pay a fiver a gallon and get the job! For those who have not thought about the LEZ go have a GOOD look. The implications for Landrovers, transits, etc is quite worrying. Sorry to frighten you all.
