  2. Yellow jackets excellent! Easy to change as nuts do not wear like green teeth! My local saw doctor also sharpens them so 4 bites of same cherry! If you have been using Rayco super tooth you might have to use a 3 mm spacer on the straight cutters if you have a Rayco machine. Any problems give me a shout!
  3. I'm a skidsteer man! Having had them for years. Avants when they were introduced have always been something to dream about along with the prices! Multione is the Italian copy! ( I think) In practical terms skidsteers have been around for longer so there are generally more tools available at more realistic prices. Skidsteers tend to be a bit more tolerant to multi users not having quite so much plastic trim. An added advantage is if the going gets tough you can put over the tyres tracks on. Try that on a Avant or Miltione!
  4. With lpa not having any money, and being frightened to spend it, cut the thing down! You might get your fingers wrapped but unless it's high profile lpa are not looking for confrontation! This may not be the right attitude but lpa's need to have a coherent policy across the country! I have seen many a fine tree felled because the lpa can't get to the tree in time through lack of resources or are frightened of the expensive consequences!
  5. Now this is a can of worms! We pay insurance for the full replacement value ( less we are underinsured) The item disappears we make a claim less excess. But when loss adjuster appears and states he can get new assets from...... cheaper they expect you to buy from their suppliers. My gripe is if it's full value insurance then it's full value replacement. I've had this happen with chainsaws as they wanted to use a firm 200 miles from me! My counter is when any warranty is required I will expect the loss adjuster to collect and deliver from their chosen supplier. They changed their mind! We are the client never forget!
  6. I have tried and used Finger, super, green, pro teeth on various machines over the years! I use yellow jackets as I can undo them with a spanner in the field! Therefore less hassle in the field and more production. And they are re-sharpenable.
  7. Won't be long before we go back to wood powered steam driven wood chippers!
  8. Dog poo! Customer has a dog, we ask if they have pre cleared their garden ? Yes they say ! What they mean is "It doesn't bother them why should it bother us" Grrr
  9. Tmberwolf 230 it's an 8" chipper for the price of a 6"! It's a no brainer. I've had one for 2 years excellent!!
  10. I have never needed to weld any thing on! Remove the hydraulic motor, undo bearing carrier, get a bar approx tight fit into splines and give it a good stir!!! Usually this will do the job. It does depend on what type of bearing (s) you have on your bottom roller!
  11. I have run Defenders all my tree surgery life. I'm selling my 130 Special Vehicle Tipper on eBay item number 232130467818. I have 2 other defendants both 110 rated at 3.500kgs as I have up rated them. A lot of my work has been off road! But the towing capacity has always been an attraction. I can carry as much as a transit but get out with 4x4 so I highly recommend defenders. Easy to fix and they hold their money. They are 3 seater single cab tippers. And parts are generally off the shelf.
  12. Maybe it was too thin? The oil you found. Try checking the specs before refilling.
  13. New caps usually sort the problem out! The fuel seems to cause some degradation to the fuel cap, I'm not sure why perhaps Mr Stihl has the answer?
  14. You might look at Wolf loppers. We have had a couple of pairs for 20 years! Nice and easy to use, and relatively cheap. Try Briants of Risborough 01844343663 or .co.uk
