  1. Get a grip mate. If you and the rest of the blamers had any idea how these things go you would know it is well beyond FR Jones, Justin or anyone else previously involved with their business. The administrators are holding all the cards and they will do what they can to get some money back in order to clear some of the accounts. Some of the people seem to be blaming Justin personally. He and members of their family have lost their job as well as his long serving staff.
  2. I pretty much close the vents once I have a good bed of embers. Chuck a log or three on and adjust accordingly. The stove is very efficient and glass is clean 90% or the time… But, I don’t fully load the oven just before bed and leave it slumbering. I guess the insulation keeps the house warm over night.
  3. Strange that, I don’t doubt it. Maybe they know what they are doing better here in Norway as nearly every house comes with a stove as standard. Some look far dodgier than that. same as we burn loads of pine and spruce as well as the other usually suspects. By law the flu is clean every two years and barely any soot comes out, very few chimney fires also. yet in the UK that combination of logs seems to set people’s alarms bells ringing.
  4. That’s awesome. Nothing worse than having a sick kid. Then you read of circumstances that you and your family have had to endure, it puts a lot of other problems (perceived) into perspective.
  5. This is our install. Been that that since the house was built, 2010. It was all installed when we bought the house. There is soap stone (I think that’s what it’s called on top of the oven) I think there is a soap stone as well to the left in the picture. Sorry it is difficult to see as it is painted the same as the walls. This thing burn hot and never had a problem. We are in Norway BTW, so maybe different regulations regarding distances and install.

    Hexa chain

Do they make the hex chain for such a large machine and bar? I have only seen them for 18 or 20” bars and on 362/400i sizes power heads.
  7. Post them up. I prefer to see these things as they remind people to be safe.
  8. Don’t get me wrong. We got the birds. 100 to 200 Woodies was not uncommon. 2 hides, set up at each end of a large field along a flight line. When the birds were there they got shot. My PB was 78 woodies in about 2 hours. My comment was referring to when the birds weren’t there.
  9. I remember watching a guy I was working for, accidentally on purpose, break his own long reach hedge trimmers. He said he wasn’t going to do hedges anymore and now he didn’t have any hedge trimmers, didn’t plan on replacing, he would never have to trim a one again.
  10. Nothing like a dog working and loving it. My old fellas spaniel used to sit in the hide looking up at me and my dad. The expression in his face was “are you two fools gonna hit something so I can go and get it!?!”
  11. Took the kids surfing the last two days in Sweden. Lots of families, distractions and kite surfers. had Kira on the long line as dogs need to be leashed during the summer in Norway. plus I need to work on her recall, and she has just come into her first season. had a great time and she only reacted to one other dog. Been off her food though probably due to the period. she did well though. Came back every time. Cold press duck seems to be the Crack for her LOL.
  12. This is the same tree in the thread asking if he can cut it back to see the damage to the shed, is it not?
  13. Not seeking conflict at all. I was kinda agreeing with you. I don’t believe someone uses that amount in a day for yard work. Therefore it is an error in the watches part based on BMI, HR and steps. It was highlighted that it will give a high number of steps based on hand movement. So by that I read that most of the other estimations are slightly dubious. That’s all I will say on the matter.
  14. No, my remark has a place. It’s right there in the post, a couple above yours. I was only commenting on what has been written. No need for a dick measuring competition. I don’t have a Fitbit or Apple Watch.
  15. One is talking Calories the other is talking KCalories. Bit of a difference.
  16. I have just read this for the first time. Thanks for highlighting the fact many overlook, turning off the machine. I hope you manage to keep strong both physically and mentally. The mental part for me was harder than the physical recovery. My injury was nowhere near as serious, but still was potentially career threatening. Where about are you in the country? An old friend and member on here did very similar a number of years ago. There is a thread about that as well. Dave made a remarkable recovery after many years of operations and rehab. He is no longer in the industry I believe. Unfortunately I lost touch with him when I moved away from the UK and he is t one for much social media. All the best mate and keep strong. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
  17. Here you go then. BTW My friend who originally posted this is a Muslim.
  18. The surgeons did a very good job. I did a hell of a lot of physio.
  19. A couple of snaps of my hand. I will spare the before pic as they are a bit nasty. The after surgery pictures aren’t much better tbh. That last picture was 1 minute ago.
  20. How is the hand now? Healed ok?
  21. Being upright as possible converts the energy upwards from the legs rather than more out in front if your leaning too far back.
  22. Imagine you are pedalling a bike backwards. Keep you heels under your but. It stops the rope kicking out but also keeps you a bit more upright. Just use a sling as a chest tether. Or a length of cord. Twist at the back and put it on like a rucksack and clip the two loops in front of you with a krab. Again it will keep you a bit more upright.
  23. Where is the tree? Ie where do you live? I have never really heard anyone in the Uk say they like a tree because it provides shade. Therefore, if you live in a hotter climate then the advice given by UK arborists may not be that suitable.
  24. Cut / damaged 6 tendons and removed the nerves from 3 fingers on my right hand. Luckily none of them were totally severed. Courtesy of a moments lapse in concentration and a circular saw. 5 hours of surgery and a diagnoses of not working again. I was back at work 10 months later and full time after 12 months. It is still very painful in the winters due to the nerve damage. Index finger will be forever numb as they didn’t managed to find the nerves.
