  1. When I was working for SL Treecare. Steve had one of them chainsaw winches fitted to an old 044 saw. Pretty capable machine and we pulled some pretty heavy learners back into the woodlands around Brands Hatch and West Kingstown and local villages. The job was for the cycling road races for the London Olympics. The trees had to be gone for the helicopter tv coverage. It was one of these. 2. Whats wrong with using it 2 handed... apart from the fact you are an Eco rebel?
  3. I've been high clipping for eternity. Sometime I leave the saw running, (CB on of course), other times I turn it off. Never burnt my arse yet. The only thing I have every done like that is burn a hole, just to the side of my nether region, with a Petrol hedge trimmer.

  5. Horse Chestnut.
  6. I just use a fat old bina. I can clip and I clip one handed very easily.
  7. Good afternoon. Sorry sir, I slept in.
  8. They do look pretty smart. I was on site with one the other day, fully wrapped in company livery.
  9. They are all over Oslo area. Due to the fact they are electric and all the perks which accompany EV’s, loads of tradesmen are renewing their 3 year old transporters with the ID Buzz. I see multiple ones daily. They are pretty cool looking but I haven’t driven one yet.
  10. I’ve been stepping up things with Kira. She getting bigger, as they do! Got hold of a Moose leg from a hunter friend and have been setting trails in the woods next to my house. She has found it every time. Got the missus to set one in the dog park and and her at it. She found that as well. happy pup.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. Been a very rainy period here in Norway and we haven’t had many real hot days since. Any other suggestions or confirmations from other members?
  12. Morning, I was round at a friends house last night and they have a number of plum trees growing beside their driveway. The trees look generally in good vigour and have very little deadwood. She prunes the trees regularly and there’s a decent harvest of plums. The owner asked me why some are starting to go mouldy? Is it a form or fungus affecting them? I am far from an expert in pest and disease in fruit trees, so I thought I would pose the question here. Any help is appreciated. I have taken a couple of pictures. Some leaves are starting to wilt and the fruit start by initially going purple before the mould sets in. Any ideas on the cause and the treatment going forward. So far she has been removing the affected fruit when she notices it. The had a half a bucket full a couple of day before I was there. TIA.
  13. Not sure where that myth comes from. Most travellers in the area I lived and worked for 17 years, drove around in the best vehicles and charged way more than some of the legit companies. Nothing was cut throat about it.
  14. Hey Erik, Welcome back. That CT foot ascender you sent me a few years back is still going strong. Cheers.
  15. No. He will be on a covert mission searching out Taliban leaders in his Series 2 Landrover.
  16. Wow. Thanks for posting them. I had to have a very long look at the first picture to try and make out what was/had actually happened. Modern medical techniques are amazing. I wish you all the luck in the world for the rest of your recovery. If you don't mind me asking, where you a member of Arbtalk before the accident? If not, what prompted you to start this thread? Good luck.
  17. Get a grip mate. If you and the rest of the blamers had any idea how these things go you would know it is well beyond FR Jones, Justin or anyone else previously involved with their business. The administrators are holding all the cards and they will do what they can to get some money back in order to clear some of the accounts. Some of the people seem to be blaming Justin personally. He and members of their family have lost their job as well as his long serving staff.
  18. I pretty much close the vents once I have a good bed of embers. Chuck a log or three on and adjust accordingly. The stove is very efficient and glass is clean 90% or the time… But, I don’t fully load the oven just before bed and leave it slumbering. I guess the insulation keeps the house warm over night.
  19. Strange that, I don’t doubt it. Maybe they know what they are doing better here in Norway as nearly every house comes with a stove as standard. Some look far dodgier than that. same as we burn loads of pine and spruce as well as the other usually suspects. By law the flu is clean every two years and barely any soot comes out, very few chimney fires also. yet in the UK that combination of logs seems to set people’s alarms bells ringing.
  20. That’s awesome. Nothing worse than having a sick kid. Then you read of circumstances that you and your family have had to endure, it puts a lot of other problems (perceived) into perspective.
  21. This is our install. Been that that since the house was built, 2010. It was all installed when we bought the house. There is soap stone (I think that’s what it’s called on top of the oven) I think there is a soap stone as well to the left in the picture. Sorry it is difficult to see as it is painted the same as the walls. This thing burn hot and never had a problem. We are in Norway BTW, so maybe different regulations regarding distances and install.

    Hexa chain

Do they make the hex chain for such a large machine and bar? I have only seen them for 18 or 20” bars and on 362/400i sizes power heads.
  23. Post them up. I prefer to see these things as they remind people to be safe.
