  1. This was discussed on the Jeremy Vine show, a woman rang in, she was very none PC, but in some respects she did make some sense. She was saying that basically men have been emasculated, that in the past working men would have a scuffle, then shake hands and share a few pints.
  2. Is it not a 411??? The grey one behind is a 404.
  3. Of cause not, but when people go in for judging others I think its best to try and get the story as straight as posable
  4. From what I've heard, he was asked to keep working, was concerned he was going to be late and miss his hot meal, he was assured he would get his steak, so he continued to work. Once they got to the hotel he was offered a cold meal. There was no where he could go to get a hot meal.
  5. I'm not sure he NEEDED to go to A&E, he chose to go, with a split lip. Big difference between needing to and choosing to, IMO.

    Pole saws

They are handy and quick, but they are the work of the devil!!!
  7. The sawdust cough thing was a bit weird????
  8. Nope, mines for both plus snow blowing. Although adding arb was 100% loading, so doubled the price.
  9. You get what you pay for in this life, IME
  10. It was very tragic. What makes it worse is that because of the remote location they were heading to, there was a book in a shop at the nearest town which you signed in as you headed off and signed out on your return. If you were not back at the time expected, help was sent. On the day they left the town the shop owner was away, his son could not find the book, so started another one, when the shop owner returned he knew nothing of the new book and continued using the original book, which of cause this couple were not logged into.
  11. One of the saddest things I ever saw was a Ray Mears program about some walkers exploring the outback of Australia in a Hilux, they got stuck on soft sand next to a water tank, they let the tyres down a little, but still could not get it out, he stayed with the Hilux and she (the better walker) set of hiking to get help. Three weeks later her body was found by the road side, he was still alive because of the water tank. The guy who found them got the Hilux out in 10minuets, he simple let more air out of the tyres.

If its your job, do it your way. If it someone else's job, do it their way or walk.
  13. You want 20,21 and 22, covers everything you will ever need!!....... Oh wait I in the wrong century, forget it, sorry.
  14. Says the man with the transits and Tiny wolfs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Makes a HUGE difference to me whether its a tree I felled or not, grinding other contractors stumps is very expensive
  16. Plus an inexperienced operative would be pretty unproductive.
  17. You can buy a saw from B&Q for £150, yet many of us still make a good living using ours.
  18. That makes no sense IF you were trying it on, you would already have the new pants to wear while waiting for the second pair.
  19. I'm not sure it is. Yes you can see what did happen, but you cannot see what would have happened if you had done things differently. You can surmise and guess about what may have happened had you done this, that or the other, but as those paths were not taken you cannot truly know where they would have lead, IMO
