  3. Ive had that too, Got to a job a few years ago now, Boss says, Section felling of a big oak, He told us it would be a day and a half, We figured strip it first day get the log the morning after, Gets to the job the oak was in a HUGE field on the customers land, Pretty dead/dying hence it coming down, was honestly nothing round it at all, could get the van and chipper right up to it as the ground was firm, Looked at the lad i was working with, said to him, why not fell it? he agreed, Tipped the chip by dinner got all the log on and went back to the yard, job took a day and that was with a good dinner break, went back and the boss went mental, he had TOLD the customer it would be a day and a half, we thought we'd have saved him time and money coz we could get on to another job haha some people

  21. The economy is shot to bits, You only have to look at the car fore courts up here to see 5 grand off this 6 grand off that, No luxurys are selling because a good percentage of people are struggling to pay the mortgage/rent. Ive been after a new car for a while, new to me not brand new and the 2nd hand market is so so cheap, Real bargains to be had at the moment, Hence i have a nice (for me) car coming soon that i paid peanuts for!

  23. This weeks weather has been truly horrific, I have been soaked to the boxers everyday this week by 8AM, working in these conditions makes work all the harder im sure youll all agree, To top it off the job i was on was a nightmare too, We had to section fell around 70 mature sycamore and ash that were on an old disused cobbled road behind a row of houses, Every tree over hung the gardens of the houses, Every garden had a green house or shed, The ground was that boggy we could hardly stand up, Could only just about track the chipper in it was that bad, i went to fell a stump yesterday and as i lifted the 66 (chest hight) up to put the back cut in a went flying down the slippy banking on my arse in all the mud, just topped my week off nicely did that!!! Worst week this year for me!! Anyone else have fun in the rain???
