  1. All these courses are more about the money than the teaching. How can say £650 for a three day course be justified minimum of 4 people upwards thats a minimum of. £2600 and all you get is a cert to say you can do what you been doing for years then to put salt in the wound after 5 years now you have to do it all again. I fully agree with being qualified its a must but your not getting your moneys worth. these nptc's are the reason there are unqualified climbers they cant afford it. The first couple of courses 30-31 should be lowered then more people will go on them and progress but your building a brick wall at the first hurdle. Just an opinion.
  2. Cheers Sky just checking if that was right
  3. I got a chipper i love it how much would you charge to rent your self and the chipper for the day just to chip. I see as making £100 a day profit is no bad rock bottom tho. And yeah £300 average day £450 really good day. Our market just cant get the bigger prices to many tree firms and **** loads of pikeys and gardeners landscapers they all nick our wor and do fucking **** jobs but people still use them ?.
  4. Dont think the one book i stated as the only book i have my man i have a shed load but it is one of the best in terms of information. I got books from treeworker stantons climbers AA guide etc. I was just rattling his cage lol. All i will say is i always get called back and lots of the big firms like getting me in. And in my opinion my way of pruning is not the best but i preferr it and until there is scientific proof saying its bad ill not change. Shaping is expected where i work you cant just reduce by 30% eg. They expect a reduction to include shaping horses for courses.
  5. My blades have a curve in the cutting face is that right
  6. My truck been doing that for two years now i brought new front hubs bearings disks pads track rod ends the lot to stop vibration did not stop that would explain my problem the drums are **** im using a T wrench from now on on my wheels.
  7. How would you compare the treeflex to the treemotion

    Help

    did you have any security
  9. Yeah sounds pretty good maybe if i have a good year ill invest in one.
  10. Yeah i know to many twoc c@nts. Its a shame we have to do all this we go out work our asse off get some where in life only for some use less nob to try and steal stuff we work for. I have more security but thats secret squrrell stuff lol.
  11. What stuff do you guys protect your gear with.
  12. Yeah im getting the TW wheel clamp so i guess a tow hitch lock i need a little nugget thing for my one. any one thought of making a ground anchor like a 5 ft deep pole with spikes that only open when you pull up. Is it worth buying two wheel clamps
  13. cheers for the positive comments guys im just wondering what kind of security do you guys use to protect them. Its got a datatag but what else do you use. cheers
  14. Hey Just took delivery of my first chipper today its a tw24/150 6 inch and works a treat ill post a pic if any one is interested.
  15. I have decided to try a much shorter friction length now my hitch climber is touching the icicle hitch tested it for 5 mins and its quicker i still pull from the bottom and it sends the hitch along the rope. see how i get on
  16. I just would not climb without them full stop. Im the most valuble assest in my company tools are expendable. Im sure your the same im guessing your not calling me a prick for no reason?.
  17. What im doing is pulling under the pulley and it slides the hitch up on its own so i just tug the rope under the hitch. Well normally i get the ladder and climb back up its hard work thrusting im bolloxed every time i react the top lol.
  18. I think class 2 should be law since the 200t is my most used saw. I would rather sweet my nuts off than loose them lol.
  19. Pete its alot less distance than it looks my hand can spread one end to the other just tried to see. its perfect distance including my d rope on my treemotion for accending you need a little longer length to lessen the amount of thrusting needed
  20. WOW so the trousers did not work to good. I know these products are not fool proof the boots i dont think any will stop a saw. example full throttle 88 will shread your ass trousers or boots will not stop it. The funny thing is the 200t runs 24ms and our class 1's only work up to 20ms
  21. Just a little update. Im not a great fan of the VT used it for i guess a month now and its just not what i expected it may be due to the oceanp friction cord Im using my icicle hitch with my normal friction 8mm cord and hitch climber it wipes the floor with the VT oceanp combi. The icicle never slips always grips and its very easy to move it does not bind up. I recommend every one give it ago i think there will be alot of converts.
  22. Hey frans cheers yeah im sure they are great and i will be one to buy both hence why i wanted to know why it costs so much. I just said the wrong thing.
  23. Its good to see these pictures it puts an air of reality into the job helps to undestand just how dangerous this job can be. But how did you cut your leg the trousers should have stopped it. When im climbing i always get thoughts in my head like imagining what if the rope cuts or the branch snaps i think its good because im semi paranoid when climbing but it makes me be meticulous about what im doing. I hope all the guys who posted are are fine we need to see this stuff
  24. I was given some degree of an answer followed by an idiotic comment which i decided to reply to by now you shud have realised i will address any negative comment. Oh and mr ed i was a little rude to you and i apologise for that some times heat of the moment.
  25. How hard was that finally an answer to a question. Oh yes i will go to college just to learn about a winch WTF. maybe you should.
