  1. Ain't that the truth 🙂
  2. All boils down to the same usual call "Comhere you bstard"
  3. A better version.
  4. Midnight Diner theme tune. A series of Netflix shorts, like a cross between "Cheers" and "The Canterbury Tales" . Really chilled.
  5. That'll be from Biggin Hill. A privately owned dual seat Spitfire. he takes passie's on aerial sight seeing trips, his general course is BH, over the High Weald, Shoreham, over the coastline and back. Quite frequently see him low passing over Heathfield. An incredible sound. A young neighbour asked what it was and when told, then asked why it was so important. They're why you're speaking English ( well his interpretation of it ) not German mate. Incidentally the Battle of Britain museum at Hawkinge and the Battle of Britain memorial at Capel-Le-Ferne are well worth a visit. The bomber crews never got the recognition they deserved until recently (about 2012 I believe).
  6. Bit of simple food. Butter rice with a dash of soya sauce, scrambled eggs with dill and chives, topped with sardines in tomato sauce. Lingham's chilli sauce at the table. 🙂
  7. Aye indeed but her welfare and not my feelings had to come first. Hard though it is.The end was peaceful and dignified, I'd like to think she was thanking me, her eyes said she was.
  8. Quite apt at this time.
  9. Re Bonnie. Thank you for your kind thoughts and words. It means a lot to me. Slainte 🍷 Ted.
  10. @Mick Dempsey Difficult to pick a favourite Mick, but I'll go with these. Bonnie (R) with her daughter Issie.
  11. The time has come the walrus said..... Lost the old girl today. Fifteen years, five months. A great innings and she batted well. Ta-ra Bonnie. 😥
  12. Another problem, very prevalent in this area, incomers don't want anything shot on their land. Ten years ago it was 50 acre blocks now its 2/3/4 hundred acre blocks. Add to that the land collectors, who amass ground as their own stalking preserve, not doing the job and not allowing anyone else to do so. The consequent result is that deer numbers , both Fallow and Roe, are rising massively (though I love seeing them, especially Roe), road kill is prevalent and when driving the lanes a wary eye is always needed. It's a situation here that is very rapidly running out of control, much to the detriment of forestry, farming and the beasts themselves. It's very sad.
  13. Please, with respect, it's not a mask yay or nay topic That's been done to death. I would refer you to my original post. As I said respectfully.
  14. That Spaniel thing........ 20220506_141358.mp4
  15. I live in Heathfield, East Sussex. A small market town with a population of about 8000, many of whom are over 60. I go for a walk, most days, around the High Street and it looks as if things are pretty much back to normal. Some shops and opticians still have counter shields and staff wearing masks but these are in the minority. The cafes are full and there is plenty of footfall in and around the High Street. Most shops/business's are now back to normal trading though the independent bakery down the way has gone to the wall, which is sad but they were struggling well before covid. It will be re-opening as an inhouse bakery but part of a small chain. Opening is delayed due to the disrepair of the bakery area and equipment. Mask wearing is minimal and it seems that it is confined solely to the elderly and infirm who don a mask when they leave there abode and it stays on ! People generally are much more polite and space is being given, especially when entering or leaving premises. Normality here seems to be the rule rather than the exception. I did wonder how Arbtalkers are finding things in other parts of the country ?
  16. She's a happy old girl. Whilst that's still going all is good 🙂
  17. Likewise. Though in my case 5 and 2 JRT's. Gone but never ever forgotten. Sometimes I think back with a smile, sometimes a tear but always with gratitude and fondness, or should that be love ? Best go now, Doris ( the old grumbly farty one ) wants out and then bedtime biscuits. Every day with her is now a bonus. 20220504_135034.mp4
  18. Around '74 I think. Had mine for my BSA C15 apprentice transport. Happy days, during the summer, winters were bloody grim !
