  1. I am sure I recall a chap on treebuzz that adapted a heavy duty cordless drill to fit the GRCS... I believe that is a standard feature on it. Has this become a GCRS V'S Stein RC thread ?? Basically at the mo i can't afford either, but have a couple of chances of borrowing or hiring a winch. Was just a passing thought as a way of speeding the process and handling the loads. Will have some fun experimenting with ratios. How far can you go with ratios on 14mm double braid? ps. just when you thought you'd seen every Reg Coates video... thanks guys. Stu

  5. Have had a few jobs where tip tying the limbs and hinging them towards the block would have been the quickest and neatest way to remove them, but sections are too big to do so by man power. Would a winch such as a chainsaw powered one be safe and offer sufficient control ? Ta.

oi oi Geoff ! Your starting to sound like me. Havent ridden street in about a year, sticking to the transitions nowdays, easier on the elbows. Hows tricks?

Hi Mark, was good to meet you have already used the walking the throw bag trick today when I put the line on the limb below the one I wanted! :-) as I said if you need a hand with anything let me know. Also regarding rigging forces; is there anything published on this? Thanks again, Stu.

  10. I've just got back from hospital after having my stomach pumped and my colon shotblasted in an attempt to remove Stus sausage sandwich. My dog sadly caught rabies from it and has had to be destroyed. These 15 San Miguels for a tenner are beginning to ease the pain ha ha mark you were the only one man enough to stand up to stu's sausage surprise. Lol
  11. Ha ha you know you love that lid really! Thanks to Mark for today and for the throw bag trick. Ps everyone's invited to mine for a BBQ, I'll be cooking ;-)

  13. hey guys have just done my first week of climbing work in the snow. Lots of good work to be won clearing snapped limbs (esp Cedar). All of it was really technical and interesting, working out tension/compression problems seeing how far you could go out on limbs weighted with snow and large hangers and the problems associated with rigging said limbs. Was very enjoyable on all levels, even the freezing hands made me giggle when they froze to the caribs ala Dumb and Dumber. Though will i feel the same in five years time ? 0

  18. I am very sorry to hear such sad news. I was introduced to him by Keven Watt who spoke very highly of him indeed. Also had the pleasure of working with him as he calmly rigged a huge lime crown in about an hour and half on one of Keven's jobs(was more than a little impressed). My thoughts go to his family and friends.
  19. make that 07720451919. Any probs just search Keven Watt quality tree care online for contact details
