Great!! have just accepted two climbing jobs on them to be done this week!! Won't do anymore this year until sept/oct. Is my 2nd year as a subbie climber so find hard to turn work down.

  11. Did you go for a quick yank or a slow pull to remove it ?
  12. Again Reg, very informative ! Have you ever thought of producing an educational video in the mold of The art and science of practical rigging or the Gerry Benerak Working climber series ? Each time i watch your vids i learn alot but they also raise loads of questions. Not just on method and technique but also the on the management of jobs and thought processes involved. Personally i would be interested to have this applied to jobs from start to finish, although probably a practical nightmare with time/money constraints.
  13. How many men would you need to run a similar speedline ?
  14. Cheers guys, thought for a moment that I'd started 'something'. Will check out the links ta.
  15. Up for it. Name time and place. If I'm free I'm there.
  16. Re price. I too thought it was expensive for what it is. But having now used one and witnessed the increase in productivity, sheer usefulness and energy saving, I believe the price is justafiable & will pay for itself within a year. Just watch the rate at which timber dissapears 1 trolley:4 wheelbarrows. Can't be bad? Irony is, I can't afford one ;-) loving the homemade attitude of the northern boys, keep at it, would like to see what you come up with as I have been toying with the idea of an arb specific barrow for a coupla years after watching a guy using a carpet trolley.

    Claws

Has anyone tried using a claw/grapple for traversing between trees as in Heli Loggers ? Have had situations where it would be useful but they look a little precarious. Any thoughts ?
