    No slack

whip a small eye on the non spliced eye end of your rope bro and you can retrieve as normal. or just slide the webbing sling to the end and attach the retrieval ball in this-get what i mean?

yep-it throws way better mate and will not snap. or try the dyneema lines available from a kite store, virtually exactly the same thing.
  10. i think it was a statement to the developers to show that the trees will not automatically be placed 2nd behind the building of a new apartment block. but i agree thats its abit silly in practice........
  11. Well its nearly finished and today i went back to do some adjustements. You can see in the pics that the underside of the over hang has a watering and sunlight sytem to mimic the daily conditions-systems are on sensors so when it rains the mists turn on and sunny days see the lights activated so the tree will stay healthy in the shade of the alcove of the building. Had to go and adjust the water sprays today-proper nightmare, the building overhangs by 12ft and no bolting points on building so having to anchor into TIPs about the size of 2 fingers. This is gunna grow so quick its going to be pruned very very very often. The designer thought we could prune the tree in the future by going into the apartments, removing the windows and using pole clips-im sure the residents would be stoked with that.
  12. ive had both and wouldnt move away from the motion. but its such a personal decision-can you borrow one and try it for a while?

    No slack

yeah bro, thats the one. apart from its now tachyon, thats what i use every day. Ive no problem at all with the keyring crab but i do now use a tiny kong one thats rated to 200kgs-mainly for size though not strength. try and get your sling as short as poss (in your pic)
  14. Send it up bro and ill get it tested straight away and if $20 note is also in ill splice a new one for the guy-be interesting to see what it breaks at.

  21. Has anyone got the measurements to make a spliced ring to ring friction saver? I want to totally extract the core (16 strand) and im baffled by the overlap measurements-it should be easy to work out but im being really thick at the moment. Any help gratefully accepted, cheers.
  22. if the tails long enough bro-for a big stem it needs a big tail. it wont work as well as the primus on a stem but its a different price by far but saying that done of us can get ours stuck and were trying real hard too!
  23. try choking it on the branch, it retrieves heaps better we found and you dont a crotch.

    No slack

yeah the whole hitch will move away from you as you slide the little webbing prussic away. Good to do this before you cut abranch off at the end of a long limb as you can still hold the branch and walk in one handed with no slack (good when working over other peoples property boundary lines). Then put weight in your line and grab the hitchclimber and webbing prussic and pull back to your bridge before you walk back out on a limb. The more you use it the quicker the whole thing becomes.
