you cant install the cambium saver mid line. you could if you used carabiners instead of rings but it works its way round the limb if its not wrapped around. and also a tether (tail of rope) is still needed to retrieve it. Just thought of th one above as it doesnt need hardly any gear-less stuff to carry and so less stuff to get jammed. but like i said before, i havent properly tried this one.
  3. cheers bundle.
  4. is there a link to the gefa system? cobra is very expensive here so always on te look out for alternatives
  5. i know the elios is stated as sport only and not to be used for industrial work. ah well...its light and fits well.
  6. all good bro:001_smile: and remember, staples work best............
  7. i find milking the rope both directions and backing the splice up-pulling it out a bit and then milking again works to smoooth the lump away.

redirect that you can retrieve without returning to it or removing your anchor point.

yeah youd definetly have to plan how much rope your going to need-just like jonnos redi's when he uses the unicender single line. im not sure how well it would tbh, i was just playin about.
  10. I havent tried this in a tree but it seemed to work in the garden,is it dodg? and is the bowline ok to work in that direction?
  11. Its also an old maori war fort-a pa site. all the terraces you can see were formed as defensive battlements and or living areas, and i really shouldnt of driven the truck on. If your getting paid to take your time whats the issue with taking your time? and id rather spend an hour easily lowering some stuff down rather than dragging up the bank. The council has the budget for us to work that way so why not? But the real story is the bloke sitting there for 4 days and protesting i feel.
  12. I know what you mean dean but virtually all our work is done in or on one of aucklands 56 volcanoes. Were not really supposed to even take vehicles on, absolutely no impact is allowed from our work and the council insist that everything gets lowered. If id been videoed dropping that, i would probably off been sacked. I actually find it to be a really good way of keeping work fun and were never under any pressure to rush. Thats near the summit of mt wellington on the crater rim:001_smile:

450 photos at www.treetools.co.nz my broadband is too slow to look at them though!
  18. ive been having that too. i think its because my tachyon needs milking as its got a bit of bagginess from using both ends, so it keeps getting milked to the middle section and the cord really bites onto the baggy bit. its weird though as it was running perfect the week before-it may also be that just because the AP doesnt melt, it may lose its performance over time just not in melting. not sure.....................
  19. Grabbed this idea of gumpy at the weekend-instead of tying an alpine butterfly to cinch the 2 lines together up high, tie a mid line bowline and slide it up to cinch the limb and it can be undone once you get up there. you can then tie into both lines (revolver on each) and retrieve easily:001_smile:so simple once youve been shown, like most things though.
  20. i use welding wire for mine if thats any help
  21. yeah i agree bro but its just another option:thumbup1:
  22. attach it like this bro, no tape required:001_smile:

    No slack

i havent got the exact details chris. It was brought up in the gear inspection (again) and Rick (mexted) had a conversation with Thilo (Beeker) who confirmed that it was now ok to use as life support after further testing done in europe. Sorry i cant be anymore specific but thats all i know. There was also an email from Samson USA stating that the Revolver was ok to us in conjunction with velocity 11mm rope and the bend radius was ok-unfortunately i dont know who the exact email conversation was with at samson-i only briefly read the email.

yeah thats what was used peter. Footlock up acces line, floating anchor off line and then ma to lift casualty using 2 prussics. or install another line and lift dummy up that way. in real life youd definetly cut the line but the judges wernt keen for us to do that for some reason.

we measured it agaianst the treemotion ring and its virtually identical. And Thilo Beeker (Nordic Tree Care) was at the comp and has apparently done testing with DMM and it now classed as safe, still not as smooth as a biger pulley though but ideal for o rig.
