First snow in Auckland since 1936 today!!
  11. yeah ive played on the RADS sysstem a bit. i never really used it for access, always prefer the hand ascender, chest ascender set up. does speed up the ol changeover to descent though! definetly has a place in our industry i reckon, i dont think petzl agrees with the grigri being use this way though
  12. i suppose a mid line bowline with long tail would be a super simple way as well..
  13. its snowing-need any more reason?
  14. ill have you know i used it on saturday!!-havin a week off now though..
  15. we should climb that matai pretty soon then ian.. what dya reckon?
  16. MS200t is about $1600 here remember and new 201t not out for a couple of months. i just cleaned the hell out of mine, took spark plug out, got as much fuel and oil out as possible, removed the bar, shrinkwrapped the engine and just put it in my rucksack and flew over with one. had no problems at all, but not condoning you do it
  17. a shipping company will get your saws over easy-you just cant fly them out here. and make sure they are VERY clean. It isnt very expensive, just takes about 6 weeks.
  18. no i didnt bro but its an exact copy. Get some either 8mm or 10mm cord (sirius used here) approx 3.5m in length.slide a bit of tubing (about 1 inch) onto the cord and slide til it site in the middle. heat shrink in place if required. then place legs of rope next to each other and work out the size of eye required i find a couple of inches on each leg forms approx the right size eye. stitch them together down the length from the eye to near the end leaving enough to tie a stopper knot on each end. i have a wichard shackle in one of my stopper knots in nZ i got my shackle from wichard shackle (large) but out of nz im not sure. hope that helps
  19. jUst freight them over mate-easy to do. just phone an international freight company and they will sort it out for you
  20. Its just stitching and a piece of tubing bro-cheap as chips
  21. All good David, i dont have the grigri!!!
  22. disagree bro-i think its essential to have an escape route when working on spikes. its only one sling made into a prussic, it only takes about a minute to do after all.(presume were talking about the same thing)
  23. I think this is the ideal situation fore the wrench.. i tie a prussic witha ring as a cinch knot and climb below it-pull the tail down to retrieve for working the next section of spar. ill get some pics of the setup, basically the same as taylor does.
  24. meindl airstream!
  25. its solid for sure
